As a fellow vet, I agree with everything this man says. I think it's absolutely great that the WWE does these shows every year, and I hope it continues for as long as my Brothers and Sisters are over there. EDIT - I'm not a mod, But please folks let's not turn this into a political discussion. Actually, I think that's a good point, too. I'm morally against war but sometimes it's needed. And you can be anti-war but be pro-military. I am, and I know many, many people who are. I definatly am.

I think it would be more meaningful if the shows weren't fluff pieces. They should actually change titles there from time to time, just to make them extra special. Yeah, they're taped early and what not... big deal.
I could also do without the smug self-congratulatory attitude these episodes have. There's a difference between patting yourself on the back and patting yourself on your crotch. It's a great thing they're doing, don't get me wrong, but it wears thin having the announcers and video packages remind us of that 120 times in a two-hour show.

Why am I a heel? Because I don't want to watch a bunch of propaganda that's aimed at young men talking about how great a pack of hired killers for a corporation are?

Some people on here just don't understand that this show is not for the general fans, it's for the troops who, like the war or not (I certainly don't), are putting their lives on the line to defend their fellow comrades in arms in a desolate third-world country where the local customs forbade them from even having a drink. The fact that it's aired is because they need something as filler for the holiday week so the talent can get some rare time off to be with their families. Perhaps they should show a "best of 2007" program or even do like the UFC does on spike and show old PPV matches. Regardless I would submit that if one Christmas show sours your opinion on the WWE, you probably weren't a big fan to begin with...

Yes but, I just remembered that Kudos are granola bars and not the little snacks with cheese in the middle.

Why am I a heel? Because I don't want to watch a bunch of propaganda that's aimed at young men talking about how great a pack of hired killers for a corporation are? /End Thread If you don't WANT to watch, that's fine. Then don't. WWE are not forcing anyone to watch their shows. People make a choice. YOU made a choice. Now, you can simply choose not to watch it. However, considering the title of the show is "tribute to the troops," you should have been able to deduce SOMETHING was afoot. Sounds like you decided to watch just so you could bitch about it. And explain to me how saying good things about the military is "political" ? The military is an instrument, it is neither left nor right, liberal nor conservative. Sounds like you have something against the civilian authority in charge of the military. And that's fine. But the military itself only follows orders. And what's so great about a pack of hired killers? That should be obvious. The strength of our military, the mere presence of our military, is what keeps us safe. To achieve peace, you must prepare for war. The reason we have not been invaded, the reason we still fly the American flag, is because of the presence of our armed forces. Now again, you may be against the politicians and those who hold power, you may disagree with their decisions, but the military has nothing to do with them or the decisions made.
