Now I'm not saying the fights aren't real action, they are, but they seem to be predetermined, in my opinion. Having Randy Couture as the champ, the whole thing with pushing Rampage Jackson the whole they are, who is very charismatic, and the possible signing of Brock Lesnar makes it seem some what worked. The fights of couse are real but really anyone who dosen't see this as worked is naive. Now that being said UFC is my favorite product as of right now and is far more entertaining than anything WWE or TNA has done in awhile. But what do you think, do you think it is worked or not?

I'm not really following what you're saying. You're saying who becomes champion is predetermined...but the fights are real...but it's all worked...huh?

It's match making, it happens a lot more in boxing. There have been times when under the old ownership, UFC's "worked" match making has blown up in their face (same with the new owners, I remember seeing some fights in 2002, or so, where it looked like the UFC was trying to bury Randy Couture by having him fight UFC's "Top Stars" in Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, and Couture kicked both their asses, convincingly, for an example). UFC is lucky right now IMO, not only because a) they are the only game in town, but b) they have options (being the only game in town), where no matter who wins, they can book fresh feuds, and have rematches, without UFC fans getting sick of the match-up. How many combat sports can say that? IMO, one of the pluses of having a deep talent pool, and running a show every month, instead of every week .

I'm not really following what you're saying. You're saying who becomes champion is predetermined...but the fights are real...but it's all worked...huh? I'm saying that, that it's slightly worked, the fights might be real, which screws up booking plans(ie-Gonzaga beating Cro Cop) but the way they push people is obviously worked, and obviously they book to have stronger people go over weaker people in a more obvious way than in boxing. The booking of Couture and Jackson proves this.

I perfer Pride Fighting Championship... Yeah except Rampage Jackson is going to win the Pide Championship, and Pride is owned by UFC.

Yeah, Randy Couture going over Tim Sylvia is realistic. Stranger things have happened. I think they just got very lucky with the whole underdog story coming true.

Yeah, "freak show" matches are always good for a laugh or two, then you notice how dumb the idea of such a fight was. That might explain why some pro wrestling fans migrate to MMA .

The fight I was refering too wasn't a freak show fight...the big dude was a powerhouse and the asian guy was a martial artists...it was a pretty even match and ended with the big dude being choked out after dominating the first two rounds...

All I can say on this is never say never. You can never be 100% sure that even in "legitimate" fights, that there isn't a "take a fall" in the so and so round" check floating to some people here and there.

In Terry Funks autobiography, he writes how he believes that eventually MMA will overtake wrestling, and become more and more of a worked spectacle as time passes, if only to protect established stars.
