I'm not sure if this is against the forum rules, it doesn't exactly entail religion but I can see how it could, if the discussion gets to where it's against the rules, I have no problem with the thread being closed.
But yeah, I...er, do.
I've been interested in this kind of stuff since I was a kid in 1995.
I'm currently researching UFOs, but my thing used to be ghosts. I have reason to believe that my old home was haunted by my grandfather. I also have reason to suspect my grandparents home (mother's side) may be haunted as well, the fact that the house number is 1300 is a little weird too, but the superstition shouldn't be factored into the reason for why I believe it's haunted. The details on it are hazy to me now, but I know something is just weird with the place.
Anyway yeah, anyone got any stories, reports, anything?
I'm trying to find more info about a UFO sighting in Van Buren, AR, since it's moderately close to me.

I believe in life outside our Solar System.
Why? Billions of stars in the Sky. Even if there was only a .000001% chance of the right star having the right type of planet at the right distance....
The odds really aren't half bad when you think about it.
Exceeding the Speed of Light to make it so it actually matters is the big question.

I think life on other planets is pretty much a big yes. Whether they can fly here, I dunno.
Ghosts? I believe in them. Do I believe they're dead people? No idea. Could be energy or all kinds of crazy things.

For ghosts/paranormal.....I would to believe in such a thing as the afterlife metaphysically existing. Be nice, wouldn't it?
For Aliens, they exist. I'm sure of it. Earth alone with life in the whole friggin bigass UNIVERSE?
The real question is, do they even bother in actually visiting us?
Now that, I have doubts about.

I've seen a spaceship before. Not really a ship exactly, but something so damned weird I'm positive it was definitely not an earthly thing. It was bright electric f***in' purple for one thing.
As for ghosts, yes. I totally believe in them, having seen them at my grandmother's house, and just having random little events happening. Like waking up from a horrible, swea-inducing, scream-creating nightmare and breathing very heavily, only to close my eyes and hear someone telling me to calm down and relax. That everything will be fine and just to go back to sleep. It was a voice I've never heard before, nor was anyone in the room.
-Paranoia, Paranoia Everybody's coming to get me Just say you never met me I'm going underground with the moles hear the voices in my head ((^ My theme perhaps?))

I would have to say "Yes" to both.
I dunno much about UFOs (I think they will look human, if they exists, none of the sci-fi stuff), but if you're interested in a scientific study into the possibility of a soul existing after death, get this book 'Life After Life' by Dr. Raymond A. Moody. It is definetely food for thought.

Since I was in a place that was haunted (and saw spooky things), worked in a place that has a ghost (in another part of the building), and have seen something flying in the night sky that I can't figure out, it's altogether possible.

The Undead Hypothesis of Ghosts. It's possible.
The ET Hypothesis for UFOs: No. Intersteller travel isn't worth it.

I believe aliens must exist for the simple fact that out of every planet in the entire universe Earth is the only one able to sustain life seems a bit far fetched. Whether or not they come here, that I have doubts about... after all what makes us so special that a race of aliens clearly so advanced that they can routinely fly through space millions of light years would want to see us. as for ghosts, I have never personally never experienced anything paranormal, so no Seriously though I try to be an open minded skeptic.

I believe life exists elsewhere in the universe than on Earth.
I don't believe in ghosts.

I don't believe in anything that has little to no evidence. Believing in ghosts and aliens to me is the same as believing in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Being that I don't believe in God, or any God, I simply couldn't believe in aliens or ghosts either. There is no evidence whatsoever. These are ALL man-made. I know it may be egomaniacal to think that all of this is simply here for us...but to be honest, I believe it is. Our planet just happens to be far enough away and have the right atmosphere for species and life to exist, every other planet simply couldn't support any kind of life.

I think it's safe to say that yes, I do.
I'm not one to rule out any sort of possibility.
To just say something isn't out there, or that certain things don't happen because they've never happened/been witnessed by you personally is a tad self righteous.
BTW Champ is so real. Him and Nessy are married and have eight kids.

Mate, our solar system is situated 25,000 light-years away from the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy. Are you suggesting that another solar system, 25,000 light years in the other direction from the centre of the galaxy, won't be capable of supporting life?

It's possible that outside our solar system there may be life, however, we or they (if they exist) will never know. Within our solar system I don't believe other life exists. The other planets in our solar system are either too hot, too cold, have atmosphere that's too thick, so they cannot support any kind of life, especially not "intelligent" life as aliens are purported to be.
