its very sad and I felt really bad after hearing the news this afternoon. Which doesnt happen much to me when I hear about celebrity deaths. I think it will be extremely sad this summer, because from the look of the trailer he is set to give a legendary performance in the Dark Knight as The Joker. RIP And from the reports I've gotten, Ledger outshines Christian Bale. Which is saying something...

he was a great actor...i feel like this is the first...well known, well respected actor of my generation to pass. i was only 6 when brandon lee died...i dont remember hearing about river pheonix...
yeah. i enjoyed his movies, and he looked AMAZING as the joker.
a true talent was lost.

Aside from Knights Tale, I havn't seen any of his films but I was really looking forward to how he would have played Joker.
Very much like The Crow would have no doubt sent young Brandon Lee to stardom, the Dark Knight would have surely cemented Ledger into the Hollywood greats.
Unfortunatly, like Lee, we will not be able to see how Dark Knight, which little did we all know would be his final movie, would take him to new heights.
However, this has nothing to do with how he was in any movies he's ever stared in.
Regardless of him being famous. Regardless of whether you knew him or not, a still relativly young man has passed away. A young man, still with alot to live for has died with a bright future ahead and has left a 2 year old daughter that will now not have a father.
I only hope that this can be ruled as an accidental death and not suicide. At least then his family can have the knowledge that Heath had no intention of taking his own life.
This is a very sad day for the movie industry. A sad day for his many fans. And of course, a sad day for his family. My heart goes out to them.
Rest in peace Heath. May your final movie be remembered for the performance you put on and not for the tradegy that has occured today.

Again, RIP. It's a shame.
Also, I will say I don't understand the need to post in a thread ya have no interest in, just to express no interest. Surely there are better uses of your time. Eh whatever.

Honestly, I can't recall seeing any of his movies with the exception of 10 Things I Hate About You. But I have been very much looking forward to the new Batman movie, with him as the Joker.
RIP

I read somewhere that he lived alone in a hotel room for 30 days to prepare on how he would portray The Joker.
The guy was definitely dedicated to his craft.

What little work I saw of his I enjoyed and thought he was a good actor. All the buzz around his performance as the Joker actually got me interested in seeing the new Batman flick, despite my disinterest in the franchise. Sucks that he's not going to be around anymore.

I think I've enjoyed everything I've seen which he's been involved with, right down to that television show where he was a Celtic warrior or whatever (I forget the name).

There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, so I will add my own condolences and leave it at that.
R.I.P., Mr. Ledger. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, especially his daughter.

Aw man. Heath was a pretty good actor, I never hated anything he did or was in (as one of maybe three people who actually liked The Patriot).
Rest in peace duder.

One look at the IMDB boards for Heath makes me really disheartened. There are so many people out there who are so baffling. Some of the comments on there are ridiculous.

Once more, my heart and prayers go out to his family and little girl. This is a really tragic story and the more I hear, the more I am coming down on the side of this being a horribly tragic accident. The man was so devoted to his craft that he put himself in a state where his mind kept working where his body would not anymore.
I won't speculate anymore, but I just pray that we remember the good times and the performances he gave over the years.

It's scary that he was two years younger than me.

Just last night the WWE went to high definition. High definitioned is shortened to HD. Change the H in Heath to a D - what do you get? That's right, Death. And this is just months after the Vince McMahon limo explosion death and the Benoit incident. Coincidence? You be the judge. R.I.P. Mr. Ledger. You were not only a good actor who will now go down as a cult icon, but you were named after one of the most underrated candy bars in America.
