Ok. The last thread degenerated into flaming pretty quickly, so I'm starting a new thread.
Here are the rules for this thread. You have every right to not be a big fan of Heath Ledger (or celebrities in general) and of course you can also not be affected by his death personally. But if you don't care then respect the feelings of those who do care by not posting in this thread. Anyone flames in this thread, then you're gone from this board.
And one more time, I would like to say that I am gutted that one of the best young actors around today is sadly no longer with us.

I'll repeat what I said in the other thread: I was not too familiar with his work, but what I had seen I had enjoyed. RIP to a great actor.

Thank you, DiG.
R.I.P. Heath Ledger. It's going to be a strange night in the theater when "Dark Knight" opens.

I can't wait to see Batman. Heath made movies for people to see, and the best way to honor him I feel is to see what he worked so hard to create.

He rocked as an actor and was really decent in I'm Not There. My friends and I just saw him a few weeks ago and were talking about how much we liked him. It's like he was one of our own and his approach to Hollywood and life was pretty cool. I feel down about his death.

I'll start it off, since I never got in on the old one. I can't say I'm a huge Health Ledger fan. However, he has been in some good movies, I was interested in seeing how he would do in the new Batman as Joker, and it seemed like he kept getting better in each movie. Also, he was only a year older than me, which feels a little creepy. Basically, we will never know how could he could have been because I feel like he still had a lot of potential that hadn't been met yet.

Yeah, I'm wrecked that a young actor with great potential, charisma, and talent...........and on the cusp of making a real impact in cinema after BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.... In a way, this is a bad flashback to 1993 when Brandon Lee, another promising would-be action movie star, died while working on THE CROW. And just like THE CROW when I saw it in theatres, seeing THE DARK KNIGHT in theatres will be one very morbid experience.

I will say what I said in the last thread that this is very sad. He chose his roles carefully and surprised many with his role in Brokeback Mountain. I wasn't his biggest fan and posthumously, I won't claim to be either, but I did enjoy watching him and although it'll be very strange watching the Dark Knight, it'll be a fantastic end note to his life and career.
Regardless of whether or not he was a celebrity, he did his job, entertained many and coming this summer will continue to do so, and it is sad that such a young person, an artist died. He was a father, most importantly, and I cannot imagine how awful it will be for his daughter growing up to learn of her fathers death.

If it's at all available on DVD in America I highly recommend the movie that made him a name in Australia called "two hands".
It's a blackly funny film about Shady underworld figures and lost money.

Terrible loss. I know I didn't know the guy personally, but he brought joy to a lot of people through his work.
I feel really bad for his daughter. She'll have to grow up now without a father, and I can only imagine what a terrible thing that must be to go through.

he was far too young to die, only a few months older than my sister infact, and easily one of the best actors of the past decade, RIP Heath

its very sad and I felt really bad after hearing the news this afternoon. Which doesnt happen much to me when I hear about celebrity deaths.
I think it will be extremely sad this summer, because from the look of the trailer he is set to give a legendary performance in the Dark Knight as The Joker.
RIP

Reminds me too....beisdes Brandon Lee and classic examples in Bruce Lee and James Dean............of River Phoenix. He and pal Johnny Depp probably would have been dueling it out currently over who's the best actor in Hollywood...if River had lived.

I have alot of respect for him just based on the fact that he was so selective with his movies. He wasn't gonna make a crap film to get some money. Ya don't see that too often anymore.
My condolences to his family, especially his little girl
