To be fair, in that insane rambling of Warrior's, he does make a few good points. The fact that he uses his time to take yet another potshot at Hogan kinda diminishes it, though. But this isn't a thread on Crazy Jim. I always liked Heath - there was just something about the characters he played that I enjoyed. I can't explain it. And A Knight's Tale was loads of fun. RIP Waryah secretly wishes HE got the American Gladiators slot instead of Hogan.

Ledger starved himself of sleep to get a better "feel" of his character. To say Warrior's an actor is like saying his bullcrap makes sense. Filming on the dark knight finished months ago. And now theere were reports of other drugs going around. How do you explan that? Insomnia can stay with you for a while; it's not quite as easy to get rid of as "just sleep". To add onto that, it's also been reported that he was very disturbed by the character he portrayed, which as an actor, I can see happening. (I haven't ever heard a story like that before, I'm just saying it's possible.) What drugs, other than sleeping pills, have been reported? (I'm not asking that to be a dick, I seriously don't know, lol.)

I am so smurfing sick and tired of Jim "I Renounce My Slave Name of Hellwig" Hellwig acting like he's smarter and superior to everyone else. A human being is dead and he seems to revel in it, moreso if the person had personal problems.
I wouldn't be surprised if he goes through the obituary section of the newspaper looking for people who died of substance abuse problems to laugh heartily and pleasure himself to.

He's a douche. Everything is an excuse for him to pontificate about his own position about everything, particularly Hulk Hogan, of whom I'm not a fan but come on. Not EVERYTHING traces back to him.

And in the book depository at the same time!
I know it's hard, but let's let Crazy Jim's nonsense fade and leave this thread for what it's intended for.

If the cocaine/heroin reports are true.... Then how is this suicide? Anyway, AP reported this: "Tests on a rolled-up $20 bill found near Heath Ledger's bed detected no drug residue, the NYPD said Wednesday." apnews.myway.com/article/20080123/D8UBSU7O1.html

It's always sad when someone so young dies. It's hard to believe too. I'll pray for his daughter and ex-girlfriend

I would like to see, I'm also sickened by the number of people who are saying, "Heath died, but ___ is still alive?!". You'd really wish for Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan or others to die? That's quite sad if you do indeed wish that. You do not know these people, you only know what you read in the media, and if you trust what tabloids are saying, then...you're quite dumb frankly. Britney is clearly a troubled person, not just, "lol britney does drugs and punches her kids", wishing death on someone or hoping for someone to die is really an awful thing to do. As for the Westborough Baptist Church....well, I don't need to say anything about that. i was going to be sarcastic... but the OP said that flamers would be banned... so here goes. as nice as possible. nobody (myself included) said "i wish brittney spears would die"... ya see, thats against the rules. i DID however say that i'm shocked that she has outlived someone like ledger... ya see, it's WAY more publicized that spears has a problem then it was about any problem ledger may or may not have had. you're reading something and trying to find reasons to pick it apart. stop please. thank you.

It's an ongoing way of our popular culture with these things, to see people who abuse their bodies so hard (Keith Richards, Jake Roberts, even Britney and Lindsay) just keep going, while the apparently clean-cut people (Ledger until proven otherwise) die early. It's not totally factual...look at Brad Renfro or River Phoenix, both of whom had major drug problems, but it's almost instinct now to think that sort of thing.

To me, and this is in a completely selfish and very petty manner, my first thought after the shock of the death of a person very close to my age and the sadness that he's leaving a child behind was how this is going to affect my abililty to enjoy the Dark Knight. Maybe by the time it comes out in the summer I can enjoy it but at this point it all seems so sureal that I don't think I could watch the movie if it were to be in theaters today.

The fact that Hellwig has decided to talk about this is really boggling my mind. I mean, I usually imagine him as the army-sergeant grandfather who occasionally has hallucinations of Scotty humping his leg, but this attack on Heath Ledger is unnecessary and while he does make....some sort of point.....he has no right to talk about someone elses problems unless he walks in their damn shoes. God knows when Warrior dies, everyone will have a damn parade and scream from the rafters.

From the way things seem right now it seems like the situation was a guy struggling with insomnia who just juggled to many cures to a frustrating situation. I know from personal experience that insomnia can make you loopy and desperate to find a sollution(which only makes you more riled up, and tougher to sleep). Things weren't working and he seems to have mixed a dangerous combination of sleep aids.
Personally I really liked the guys work. It always seemed like I'd know I'd like almost any movie he chose to be involved with. Also, and most important of all IMO, he seemed like a really cool guy from his personal interviews.
For God's sake why not Orlando Bloom?!?!? (joking)

I was very saddened by the news, as I've seen almost all of Ledger's movies... most of the time without even knowing he was in them at first (The Patriot, etc).
A lot of the media is calling him the star of Brokeback Mountain, and I gotta say that his character Ennis was such a mature work coming from him, that it was hard to believe it was Ledger. His accent, the way he muttered/mumbled his words, and especially the ending that always tears me up ("Jack... I swear...")... he could have been in a LOT more great movies with a lot more great performances.

Not to make lite of this situation, but if you find somebody not breathing and possibly dead why would your first phone call be to Mary-Kate Olson 3,000 miles away? I can just picture myself lying there with some idiot calling Michelle Tanner... "Help he's not breathing I think he might be dead, can you help"... "You Got it Dude".
