Please tell me you're joking... If I remember, isn't Square from England? That's the only way he wouldn't know what it is.

It pretty much does just mean rebellion. As is almost perfectly embodied within "The Dukes of Hazard".

No.
It's not part of my culture and it basically reminds me of General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard.
And regardless of the "evil" background it may represent, a flag per se can't offend anyone. It's HOW the flag is used that can offend.

Im English I dont know sorry No reason to apologize little bro. Long story short as said already when America split into two camps when a few of our territories split from us calling themselves The Confederacy. This was the American Civil War. The flag since that time has come to represent a few things... one of them being rebellion and fighting the system, or just being a symbol of pride and honor, heritage, being raised in one of those states that were formally of The Confederacy. Thing is tho a lot of white supremest groups have adopted the confederacy flag as THEIR symbol. For a lot of people out there, the flag itself is a sign of racism because of fringe groups like that.

I dont think its a sign of racism. Its a sign of toothless moonshine drinking hicks I myself cannot be offended by it, because of my insane love of the Fabulous Freebirds.

That's a pretty good quick summary to listen to Square. If it helps, they barely tap into all the factors of the war in schools even over HERE.

I respect those who are proud of their hometown/state/region/country. Here in NYC we DON'T fly the state flag over City Hall.

I don't see it as representing racism, just the southern states in general. I've always thought it was a great flag, a powerful, iconic symbol. I even have a bandana of it, honestly.

Oh, and for future reference, I couldn't care less about my own country's flag; or it getting burned or anything like that. I've never understood why people get so offended by flag burning. It's illegal in America, isn't it? I mean I realise it's a symbol of something for patriots, but it's still just the flag. Freedom doesn't go away just because one flag gets torched. Not majorly on topic, but hey, it's about flags.
