I know that as far as comic book fans go I can only really be described as a casual fan at best but I have recently determined that the Daredevil botherer Bullseye is officially the greatest Marvel villian probably ever and heres why
Reason Number One: Hes killed someone worth killing.
So many super villians gain prosperity despite terrible numbers in the victory column. I mean the closest the oft praised Jokers ever come to killing Batman is beating his child sidekick to death with a crowbar. Whilst that particular side kick was rather annoying anyway and frankly he sort of did Batman a favour, it still stands that few of these so called super villians have ever managed to outdo their foes. Bullseye however has actually managed to kill Electra, thats right kill her. With her own sai to boot. Screw her resserection (come on which Marvel headliner isn't on his fifth death now???) Bullseye go the job done and for that he deserves maximum kudos
Reason Number Two: Targets are always cool
Be it the RAF pilots cheekilly painting them onto their planes to taunt the Nazi's, the Who bringing them into fashion vogue in the 60's, The Jam bringing them into fashion vogue in the 70's or Oasis bringing them back for Britpop, the Target holds a special place in the fashion stakes. Naturally Bullseye's costume is covered in them officially making him the first Mod villian
Reason Number Three: He could almost sort of be real
Man whos magnetic and can move anything made of metal with his fingertips?? nah, Giant cosmic entity in somewhat camp purple ensemble who eats planets?? nah, psychopath whos really, really good at throwing stuff?? now thats possible!!
Reason Number Four: He was the only good thing in that Daredevil movie
Face it I was rooting for him to kill Ben Affleck in that church and so were you
Reason Number Five: He killed someone because he got bored at a baseball game
Being British I can only go on my experiences playing baseball's godfather, namely the game of rounders. At school I found the game so tedious that even I a mild mannered sort thought about killing someone, Bullseye lived out that fantasy and it was the start of a glorious killing spree that survives to this day
