It is one of those fights people will argue about for awhile. I kinda wonder why Mario put them back up myself

He looked good at the start though, I suppose. not really. thats what happens in MMA. people get caught. he lost to a WORLD CLASS BJJ techinician and former champ, and ALMOST FINISHED HIM. he has nothing to be upset about

Lesnar shouldn't be fighting a man like Frank Mir in his 2nd professional MMA fight, he looked great he just hasn't learn the defense yet. He should be fighting some lower tier scrubs first and then he can rise to be something special.

I would wager there was a sharp spike in orders due to this fight, a pro wrestler vs. a former champ, and i do not think that would have happened if they put Lesnar with a mid card scrub.

Ya know, I am not a Lesnar fan, but I think he did really well considering his lack of experience. I gotta say though, it looked like the fix was in though with that bogus ref call. Move this here from the other thread.

Eh you know he's no different than Check Kongo...look at Check's prior fight before his one with Mirko Cro Cop..he didn't even show any good wrestling, BJJ or any type of grappling before. But in his Cro Cop fight he was a way different fighter. Brock was great last night i don't care what anyone says and even though it was previously stated he doesn't have anything to be ashamed of. His only weakness he showed was his BJJ..he put Mir, a former heavyweight champion on his ass for the ENTIRE fight besides the bogus ref stoppage. Give Brock a few more fights and I believe he will be fine.

I think the best part of Brock's performance last night was the way he won over the crowd in his interview after the fight.

i was a little annoyed that they had been hyping brock training in submissions etc but then when he had mir's leg he looked confused as hell and ended up wasting a good opportunity and getting caught, hes not going to get anywhere if he does nothing but gnp

Yeah, Brock showed he belongs in the UFC 100%. He took Frank Mir to the limit that you can basically take someone and the only reason he lost is because of his lack of experience and the fact that he has no submission skills. I also give Lesnar a ton of credit for the class he showed after the fight.

Also, I'm tired of people saying the ref stoppage was BS. Once again, I will point out that it wasn't just ONE hit to the back of Mir's head which is usually where you'll just get a warning. It was multiple strikes where the precedent has been set to immediatly stop the fight, deduct a point, and stand up. Regardless if it's intentional or not.

And may I add, Brock is one of those fighters who would have kept doing it over and over and really injured Mir with illegal tactics. As aggressive and excited as Brock was I don't see anything wrong with the stoppage and the point deduction.

I think a lot of people that are calling BS on the stoppage haven't watched MMA for that long. Now I'm not saying that EVERYONE that is calling BS is new to MMA, but it just seems that way. Brock is in no way tainted from the loss. If anything he comes out looking better because he almost destroyed someone.

I remember the good old days when a guy would be on the other guys back just donkey punching the shit out of him.

I saw one single punch to the back of Mir's head. I might be a little hazy on the rules at the moment but I thought after the first illegal strike you get warned and they stop the fight to see if the other guy is okay or not. That's why I'm still upset that Big John left because he called so many fights and knew what the hell was going on.
Brock looked amazing in his fight and I honestly think he has a big future in the UFC if he trains with a good submission camp and gets some BJJ skills. Can't wait to see who UFC gives him next and how well he does.

I saw one definite strike to the back of Mir's head, and multiple one's that were quite borderline if not the back of the head. I still think the ref did the right thing.

I counted a solid two, and possibly with more coming. And the standing back up rather than starting from guard was more beneficial to Brock than Mir so I don't know why anyone would be upset about that.
