Apparently so, and he was even more famous then when he was in The B-Sharps, which I guess he wasn't in 'cuz he was just a little kid in the 80's. If you don't know I'm referring the the Simpsons episode That 90's Show which totally destroyed any continuity the show had.

Screwy, but what can you do? Personally, I thought Sadgasm more or less captured the spirit of what people were trying to do musically in the nineties.

Screwy with continuity, but somewhat humorous. I just learn to ignore these things.

It really messed up some of the timeline. With that being said, however, you have to feel for the writers trying to come up with storylines for a show with twenty years of history.

It's like "Crisis on Infinite Earths" for the Simpsons? (I haven't seen the episode in question.)

I loved this episode. The truth is, Bart is still ten and Homer is in his thirties. They have no option but to reboot the past once in a while, and this provides great opportunities to make episodes like "That 90s Show." As for continuity, it still ended in the miniature golf course windmill for the true fans.

I like how Homer looked like Chandler from Friends.
Pretty confusing when it comes to continuity, though. But whatever, it's a cartoon.

I was more annoyed by the lack of general continuity. Such as Homer referencing a bunch of Seinfeld episodes that aired well after grunge had been established. The writer's never nailed down a specific year the episode is set in, and so just throw a ton of 90's references out there.
Of course, f***ing with Simpson's history is a bit of a "Screw you" to the fans as well, but this is what happens when you have a long running series where the characters don't age.

I enjoyed this episode. I want a Sadgasam cd. I like how "Margarine" sounded like the Bush song "Glycerin"

I wasn't really upset with that episode. I mean, sure, that "let's hit everyone over the head with a hammer" mentality they had with all those 1990's references got old a little fast; but, this shows been going on for nearly 20 years, and none of the characters have aged. You got to expect a little continuity swifting with that.

Well, my assumption always was that Marge was in college during her early 20s, but I though Homer was in the Army. Honestly, they should have stuck with the fixed/floating timeline, and not do something this blatent.

Ugh, they're determined to keep the show going no matter what. I wouldn't doubt if it lasts 45 more years.

As for continuity, it still ended in the miniature golf course windmill for the true fans. Except of course Homer and Marge's first time wasn't in the windmill, it was in what I assume is the 18th hole, where the "Free Game" castle is. The writer's confused this where Homer was working at the time (the windmill) and now we're stuck with the history of their first time and Marge becoming pregnant in a windmill.

I had a huge rant on this episode a month or so ago.
But long story short, this episode was a BIG "Eff You" to the fans. The show itself supersedes time, so there was no reason they couldn't just keep up with the story they have. Terrible episode made me glad I haven't seen the show in 7 years...

To me, nearly every episode since 1999-2000 has been a big "F---YOU" to the fans. But that tends to happen when a show has been around for 10 plus years and continuity starts being screwed with and fans have strong opinions on both sides.
