I told ya'll about Jurrens and Escobar. Future all stars, Yunel maybe this year. Yunel is good but when Ryan Zimmerman plays shortstop, he's still the worst at his position in the NL east. ;D Wow! Did the Phills really let Tim Redding and the Nats bullpen nearly no hit them

Jays beat the Yanks 5-2. Good times when A-Rod strikes out, just as he does every at bat he's expected to do something of use. ;D EDIT: 5-2, not 5-3. Wait, did you actually watch Rodriguez last season?

Just like when everyone was talking about the Braves needing their rotation to be healthy. (Which is true I won't deny, but I also said it applies to more then just us.)

Well. Vizcaino just made a proper fool of himself in the 8th. The rest of the Rockies didn't exactly look so hot either. 2 errors, 2 walks off full counts, and 4 runs brought in, and we've still got two outs to go.
Youch.
EDIT: Evidently they didn't charge Garret Atkins with the second error. Still, what an ugly inning. Why they waited for Vizcaino to give up three runs and 2 walks before even getting Bucholz into the pen to get loose boggles my mind. I know its early in the season and it's a short night, but there's nothing wrong with getting a guy loose in case he needs to get you out of a pinch. 7 or 8 pitches won't ruin him for the game tomorrow.

Zimmerman took away a few hits by making some great defensive plays. On top of that he was responsible for the only run in the game, a solo shot in the 6th.

Cincy beat Zona with a walk off three run from Encarnacion. It's important it was him too because if you'd have seen the throw home of his on a sure out earlier in the game, he needed it. Semi promising game. The D Backs are tough. Dan Haren needs a haircut. The Reds played a sloppy game but the offense was there. Men were left on base and people did some stupid things but more importantly, the bullpen kept them in the game. (albeit sloppily) This did not happen last season. That ump was a chump too. In baseball, a call's a call and it's rare that I leave my seat and curse at the television but this was such a game. I swear they need to make a robot box that calls balls and strikes to 100% accuracy. Also, would the MLB discriminate against hiring an umpire with tourettes syndrome?

BREAKING NEWS: ALEX RODRIGUEZ OPTS OUT OF HIS CONTRACT! HE'S A FREE AGENT! WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO HIM? WHAT ABOUT THE YANKEES? WHAT ABOUT SCOTT BORAS? AND WHAT DOES HANK STEINBRENNER THINK ABOUT ALL OF THIS?...also, some team won a world series or something.

He's still vastly overrated (he hits 55 homers a year, and 150 RBIs, but put him in a position where he needs to deliver and he chokes more often than not) but I'll grant that he's all over ESPN.

Cincy just took Arizona yet again. 2-1, kids. Our closer, CLOSED. Boy this year is spooky. The offense produces (meaning the starters get their effing run support), the bullpen allows for minimal bleeding and it gets nailed down in the ninth. I know that no one cares, but we might just be ready out here. I know the season just started, but everything is starting to look a bit more proper. Almost as if these guys were in fact a professional baseball team.

He is quite remarkable. ;D I'm glad you noticed. I hope Homer Bailey becomes "that guy" as well. I think he was scared of throwing strikes to the big boys or something. Ani, you can't imagine how good it feels to see all these nice young arms. You know how you'll turn around one day and some new building will be there seemingly overnight? That's what it feels like. Damn, when did that get there? It's not just the pitchers. We just had a bunch of kids who could play all of a sudden. You could see it brewing, but some of these guys literally came out of left field. (like Dunn needs to)

But Juan Uribe doesn't hate you. In fact, he rather likes you. Why do you make it so hard for him?

The true season begins tomorrow night in Atlanta.
I can't wait: the Mets/Braves rivalry will mean something again this year, as they're the two clear best teams in the division. Spare me the Phlukes nonsense.
John Maine vs. Tim Hudson should be a REALLY fun matchup.
