I don't feel like reading through 10 pages, so if this was already mentioned I apologize...
Adam Bomb was said to have been an unlock-able character in Wrestlemania the Arcade Game

I remember a rumor for WWF No Mercy where if you irish whipped your opponent just right into a fence or power switch it would open a hidden backstage area. I recall trying time and time again to do it to no avail. There was also a picture floating around on the 'Net early on of a DX locker room. It was just the regular locker room but with DX logos on everything. I think it was just someone screwing around with a Game Shark but lot of people were convinced it was an actual backstage area.

That kind of stuff can also be made pretty easily by taking a screenshot of the normal room and editing it with photoshop, then say "Hey look over here! A secret area!"

I also remember a rumor--that was listed by no less than GameFAQs--that if you bought everything in the SmackDown! Mall, it would unlock WWF New York as an arena.
Thankfully, I never bothered trying to kill myself purchasing the Ho as a playable character for $500,000. Seriously, who would pay that much for a prostitute?
...Sit down, Spitzer.

I remember the Adam Bomb rumor as well. I dunno how it got started though, although I seem to remember weird things being yelled from the crowd that sounded like clues for a hidden character...though I havent touched the game in years, so, maybe not.
Also, not really a Legend since it was true, but something I just remembered...for the WM sequel, IYH, two things were planned that didn't make it to the game
1 - Sunny would appear randomly during fights. Doing what, exactly, I dunno...but WWF magazine showed footage of her being video captured sitting on some kind of swing for the game.
2 - Originally the Ghost of Andre the Giant was to be the boss of the game. Yep.

Since I can't think of any more, I'm just gonna make some up.
1) In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, unlock Mega Man by beating Boss Battles in under four minutes on Very Hard difficulty or higher in less than 3 minutes 45 seconds with each character.
2) In Super Mario Galaxy, unlock the ability to use Yoshi by collecting 120 Stars as Luigi, then beating Bowser without using the Nunchuk.
3) Everybody knows how much Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3 and XBox 360 sucks. Apparently, so did the programmers--there's a way to unlock the REAL game, which is not only one of the greatest video games ever, but also gives some backstory for the upcoming game, Sonic Unleashed! ZOMG! To unlock this game--which is capped off with an epic final battle against Metal Sonic--beat the game while standing on one foot and whistling "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" during every boss fight. Whistle it in E-minor while facing Iblis as Shadow, and you'll start the real game with six Chaos Emeralds to your credit!!!!!!!

dont know if this was mentioned either, but howabout how Animalities were urban legends from MKII turned into actual finishers in MK3. I always found that kind of cool.
I think the Mortal Kombat games must have the most urban legends ever.

Yep. oh God...and I thought that game was the crappiest wrestling game ever already; had they have gone with the whole Andre's ghost thing...it would be a whole new level of crap.

Here's one from waaaay back when. And it was probably just something among my area. Nintendo was taking video game solicitations from kids. You write the story, give puzzle lay outs and such. My friend swore up and down that he had solicited a big foot (monster truck) game that would eventually come out. I looked for that game for a couple of years at stores to no avail. You mean this one? HOLY SHIT?!

You mean this one? HOLY crap?! ya know, when I was really young I remember sending in ideas for games...dont know if I actually sent them in or if my mother just put it in the mailbox without a stamp like she was sending a letter to Santa. One of my ideas ended up happening, in title only at least. I remember sending in an idea for a Mario game staring Luigi called "Mario is Missing"...they did end up making a game up by that name, but I bet it had nothing at all to do with my idea. I never heard from Nintendo, so it had to have been a coincidence. Another friend of mine claimed he created an idea for a game that got made...dont remember which game it was though. I think in your Bigfoot case was a coincidence, as was my "Mario is Missing". Considering the popularity of Bigfoot during that time period, its probably more likely that the owners of the Bigfoot franchise invented the game to make money. By the way, not only was it a real Nintendo game but Bigfoot was a regular character in the cartoon series "Video Power" members.fortunecity.com/aking1/world/videopower1.html

They were churning out games based on any and everything back then. I don't remember the truck guest starring in that show, but i do remember the cartoon it starred in. www.retrostatic.com/videos/p803_sectionid/999999/p803_js_on/0/p803_fileid/5

I remember my cousins knew about it and some kids at school knew about it...plus you know about it. I wonder if there really was something like this or if it was another urban legend.

Well, one of the Megaman's did have a contest to create one of the boss characters. So who knows.

Another No Mercy legend is that Raven was an unlockable character. First, IIRC, Raven wasn't a WWE employee back then so they'd risk a lawsuit. Second, there are Raven's CLOTHES available in the CAW mode, so he can be CREATED (though his face isn't available), but not UNLOCKED. Raven's face IS in the game, it's 96. I believe Raven was a WWE employee by that time but hasn't debuted yet, similar to RVD and Rey not making it into the SmackDown! games after their debuts but their entrances being in the game. That's the reason he's as perfectly createable as e.g the MSP, Gangrel or Mideon. I don't feel like reading through 10 pages, so if this was already mentioned I apologize... Adam Bomb was said to have been an unlock-able character in Wrestlemania the Arcade Game There were also rumours about Yokozuna and Bam Bam being unlockable in the SNES version.

Also, I don't want to start an Urban Legend here, but has anyone else ever managed to do a roll up pin in No Mercy? You know the kind where you'd put you opponent into a waist lock from behind, push him into the ropes and then roll back pinning him? I swear I managed to do that one time and one time only. I'm pretty sure I was standing behind my opponent and either pressing one of the shoulder or one of the C buttons. I never heard of anyone else doing this and I never managed to do it again myself, but I'm sure I wasn't high or dreaming this.
