Damn, this Red Sox bullpen cannot be trusted. Masterson goes out there and gives up 1 ER in 6 innings, and the bullpen blows it in the 7th. As good as Paps and Oki are, guys like Aardsma/Lopez/Timlin/MDC aren't going to get it done come playoff time. Hansen was pretty solid yesterday. He needs to take a spot on this team immediately.

Who would really trust a face like this? Also, Brian Schneider might be headed to the DL. That could mean two weeks of Raul Casanova and Gustao Molina as the Catching corps

Who would really trust a face like this? Not only that, but I don't trust anyone who's last name begins with the same two vowels. You know what the worst thing is about this bullpen? They have Javier Lopez as a LOOGY, but he can't get lefties out. That's his role on the team. To deal with left-handed hitters. And he was actually significantly better against righties in 2007. Once they get rid of him and bring up Hansen full-time, they'll be taking a step in the right direction. I'm convinced that the only thing that will prevent Boston from repeating in 2008 is middle relief. 5th worst bullpen ERA in the AL.

You know what is great about being a Pirate fan? You don't have to worry about the playoffs cause you're too busy rooting for a .500 season. Daggone it, WIN! Know what else is great about being a Pirates fan? When your favorite player becomes a star, you can still cheer for them when they're playing for a better team. Oh...indeed. I had a conversation like this the other day: "Wow, Xavier Nady is off to a great start. Trade rumors, you say? Well, I doubt they'll pull the trigger...right?" "Dude, I think you just jinxed it." "How can you jinx the inevitable?" Although...there is some hope, right? *Random flashbacks* Argh. I really don't know how Jason Bay is still with the team. Not that I'm complaining. I'm just surprised he hasn't been traded for $10 and the Marlin's popcorn vendor by now.

Wasn't it Curtis Granderson's first game of the year? I guess they really did need him. Yep, it was. He helped, but the Tigers' bats have been heating up the past week, even with Sheffield and Polanco being out! And holy shit Ani, I haven't heard the name Raul Casanova in YEARS. He used to play for the Brewers, right. Makes me wonder about Tigers when I really started to watch them (2002). I wonder what happened to guys like Craig Paquette, Dean Palmer, Matt Walbeck, Shane Halter, and Matt Anderson.

Chase Utley and Pat Burrell are on fire!!! Chase was 3-4 today and leads the majors with 10 homers. Pat knocked in the go-ahead runs AGAIN today with an 8th inning double and leads the majors with 25 rbi. These 2 are absolutely carrying the Phils while Rollins and Victorino are on the DL and Ryan Howard is striking out every other time up.

I'll tell you what...if this team keeps playing like this in the summer...several people need to go.

Do you guys realize there have been 4 NL Grand Slams this year? 3 of which have been given up by the Mets bullpen?

Here's hoping the Red Sox FO has the balls to DFA Mike Timlin by July and bring Justin Masterson to the bullpen. He was electric today and will definitely be in the rotation come 2009.

Do you guys realize there have been 4 NL Grand Slams this year? 3 of which have been given up by the Mets bullpen? Who's the third? I know Heilman and Sosa are two of them. One of them probably gave up a second. Speaking of Sosa, I think it's back to NOLA for him. Abysmal.

Before you start badmouthing Jorge Sosa, let me tell you that in games where either team leads by 4 or more runs, he has an Opp. BA of .100. So in mop up duty or garbage time, this guy is electric.

That would be good, but when you have a manager that would rather use Scott Schoenweiss in that situation, you're screwed. I still have had enough of Sosa anyway.

BTW, Mr. Belding was at the Red Sox game today. I think he was scarfing down something, but I'm not positive.
