I think that it should be ILLEGAL to bring children under the age of 5 to any movie that's not rated G.
The last like four times I've gone to the movies, there have been crying children, kids running around, and talking out loud. If you can't control them leave them at home. If that means you have to stay home too, well then too f***ing bad!

Someone took a lil kid into Juno - I don't know what possessed them, but we had an usher throw them out when the kid wouldn't quit crying.

I's like to add funerals and wedding to this list. I don't give a damn if it is their "Papaw" or whoever-they don't need to be there if they can't be quiet and sit still. Babies don't even remember this kinda stuff anyway

Reminds me of when I went to see Revenge of the Sith on opening day.
There was a guy dressed as Chewbacca that had his 4 year old with him dressed as an Ewok. They playing around in the line and getting people into the occasion.
Everybody in line thought they were funny and awesome.
Then 12 minutes into the moved the Usher kicked them out because the little kid was screaming constantly. The Theater broke into applause.
Talk about a fast heel turn!

If you're a little kid under the age of 6 or 7, then the new Indiana Jones movie is pretty damn frightening. Why parents bring their little kids to a movie like that, despite all the gunfire, skull-mask wearing hermits, human corpses, flesh-eating ants, flaming eyeballs, etc. in the movie is beyond me.
This topic reminds me of when I was little, my mom took me and my sister to the sequel to the first Bill & Ted movie. We had to leave literally 3 minutes into it because I couldn't stop screaming after the Bill & Ted robot clones tore their faces off. I can't blame my mom for taking me out of the theater.
Sorry about that, a little tangent, but I figured it was along the lines of everything else.

Three hours of:

The most obnoxious person I've ever met at a movie theatre was this one incredibly rude bitch at 30 Days of Night. We're trying to watch this movie, but every 5 seconds she would shout something ACROSS the row to someone else. Usually I can block that stuff out (except when she does it during complete f***ing silence), but she was doing it in PORTUGESE. What the hell?!
We told her to stop, but nope. Seriously, what are you, like 5 years old? If you're in your 20's and you don't know how to behave in a movie theatre, something is wrong with you.

When I saw Borat the parents of the year decided to bring along a kid that couldn't have been any older than three. She kept repeating the curse words until she dropped the f-bomb about twenty times in succession and her parents finally fled the theater.

Pirates of the Carribean 3 the day it came out in theaters, a guy right next to me would scream out when a twist happened.He was probably right around 18. When Orlando Bloom's character was stabbed by Davey Jones, he let out a huge "OH MY GOD, WHAT THE HECK, etc, etc". I turned to him and as calm as I could "Dude.....shut up." Nearly three hours of that wasn't fun, at least I'm somewhat good at dealing with stupid crap so I wasn't completely driven up a wall.
And the funny thin was that there was a group of young kids in front of us who were well behaved, minus going to the bathroom constantly, which is understandable for a group of kids like that.

Went and saw Freddy Vs Jason, and there was a mum that brought her 5-year-old to it sitting in front of me. Within about 5 minutes she was outside, demanding a refund.

I'm lucky in the fact that we have a local drive-in that plays new movies - that way we can take our daughter if we REALLY want to see something and don't have a babysitter. We stay in the car and she usually falls asleep sometime during the first movie anyways. Even if she were throwing a fit, it wouldn't bother anyone but us.

Kids in the theater have never really been a problem for me, but I can imagine it being one.
Whenever people are talking too much or acting idiotic during a movie - I'm usually the first guy to yell "SHUT UP!" very loudly.
Its cool because its like telling someone to stfu on the interwebs - no one knows who you are and you can act all tough.

As a father of a two-year old.... I can safely say this.
Children who act up in theaters, restaurants, etc,.... deserve to be punched directly in the face by those who are annoyed by them.

It doesn't get much better than that as far as movie theater experiences go. I've done that before - my husband and I have gone to movies before and been the only two people in the entire theater. Afterwards we realized we should have taken advantage of the situation but we were too into the movie to notice. |
