I just heard him say on 1st And 10 that the Celts comeback last night was the greatest comeback in the history of sports, even greater than the Bills comeback victory against the Oilers in '93.
Even Greg Anthony, a guy who has actually been a professional NBA player, thought he was crazy.
Seriously, why is this guy still onTV?

Saw, I dare you to make a less bold statement with your thread title. He's just a hateful little douche who judges things he should not on information he doesn't have. Plus, he has stupid hair and I believe he dissents sometimes simply for the sake of doing so. If the sun were shining, he'd tell you it's night time.

True enough. I just wanted to say it, because it was such a ridiculous statement. He's worse the Stephen A., and it will always baffle me how he continues to find work at ESPN.

I think the reason he keeps his job is BECAUSE he is an idiot.

I used to think Bayless was the dumbest person I'd ever seen on TV, until I realized he's saying incomprehensible things in order to get attention.
But since I stopped watching anything other that ESPN news, my blood pressure is just so much lower.

I really, really hate him. I used to love watching Woody Paige school him on Cold Pizza.
He just seems so confrontational for no reason.

I really, really hate him. I used to love watching Woody Paige school him on Cold Pizza. Same here. My buddy is convinced the reason he seems to hate every good player in the league is becuase he tired out, and failed, to make numerous sports teams in school and got picked on by the jocks.

I don't know crap about football so I don't know anything about the Bills comeback against the Oilers. But I'm not a spoprts reporter so I don't have to. I do know my MLB and my NBA though and the comeback last night was the greatest single game comeback that I could ever think of. Sure, these kinds of comebacks have happened on occasion in regular season NBA games, but not on opposing teams floors and certainly not in the Finals. Honest question now, cuz I really don't know, was the Bills/Oilers game a SuperBowl game?

Bills/Oilers was a wild card playoff game. The Bills were down 35-3 in the third quarter and ended up winning the game 41-38.

This should explain why Bills/Oilers is held in such high regard: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Comeback_(American_football)And Skip keeps his job precisely BECAUSE people hate him/react to him. I'm sure he's encouraged to make overblown ridiculous statements, so people can go " I can't believe that idiot said that rabble rabble.."

Sheesh. That's ridiculous. There's a playoff football game that I wish I had watched.
I was struggling with this thought myself last night. I watched the Conference Final game in '02 when those Celtics came back and beat the Nets after they trailed by 24 in the 4th quarter. This Celtics team had more time to come back from a 24 point defecit last night, but I put it above the Nets game because this one was in the Finals. I didn't hear Skip Bayless, but I'd guess that that's the point he's resting his hat on.

If they were down 2-1, then'd it be pretty impressive. 2) The Celts have a better all around team who have had more time to gel. But none of these facts should dilute the overall message that Skip bayless is an idiot.

I would try to make an arguement for Skip Bayless' case, Saw, but there's one little problem: I can't. Why not? Because I agree. I think he's just an idiot. He just says things to rile people up or to be the negative in an argument. Almost like Jay Mariotti. He seems to bash everything in Chicago without a second thought, even if the teams are doing good.

Did you expect anything less from a guy who said the Timberwolves were a playoff team in the West at the beginning of the season?

Are you kidding me? Just because it's in the finals? Blarg. And I listened to the Comeback on the radio while my family was coming back from Utica after getting groceries. I made them keep the car radio on the game after we came back and found out they were coming back. We got home, I ran inside, and saw Steve Christie kick the winning field goal just in time.
