Which one did Alice Cooper do the music for? Seems to me, part 6? OH, YES HE' S BACK HE'S THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK AND HE'S OUT OF CONTROL HE'S BACK THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK And he crawled... Out... Of... His... Hole I never liked the first movie...it seems that Mrs. Voorhees didn't have a problem killing anyone except for the last girl which made it look pretty halfassed that she can kill all these people without them putting up a fight or running away, but the last girl, no matter how many times she smurfed up that she got away. Right. See also; every slasher movie ever made.

IT'S A REMAKE WHICH AUTOMATICALLY MEANS ITS GONNA BE BAD!
WAH WAH WAH!
Seriously, I'm willing to give any remake a chance because sometimes you get stuff like Dawn of the Dead.

Change that to PLATINUM DUNES REMAKE and you're 100% goddamn right. They have YET to make a decent remake of a classic genre film.....at least, one that doesn't shit all over it's predecessor. If PLATINUM DUNES is involved, odds are that the film is going to somehow both SUCK and BLOW.

As far as condemning Part Five, while I somewhat agree with the previous poster who defended it, there are certain flaws that show they really weren't interested in making the best movie they could. It's completely lost on you that they are trying to sell Tommy as the new Jason, unless you watch it thirty times like I have and I only resently picked up on that. Unlike the previous Fridays, they don't even attempt to make the victims likable except the black kid, his brother, and maybe the main girl who doesn't die until Tommy maybe kills her at the end. This is one of the first Fridays I remember were most of the victims were just random people who weren't related to the story i.e. the coke addicts at the diner. The dialogue was hammy at best with lots of "how would you know"s and exposition. In otherwords, characters give information that they wouldn't probably know. Also, how does the EMT pretending the be Jason have a recent picture of his orphaned son? That all being said, Five isn't even the worst one. 8,9,and 10 are all worse than 5. Those movies were jokes with 9 being the worst. The real question about the new one is does Jason's sister get explained in this one or will they just completely drop that? It seems like every slasher has an orphaned sister who is the only one who can stop him, except freddy who had an orphan daughter. That's why I say 9 was the worst. Jason wasn't even in it and basically it was a rip off of Halloween and Fallen. As for the new, I'm such a fan I will be there no matter how bad it is. I know it's going to be complete trash, make no sense, and disappoint me through and through. There is no reason for the hockey mask if it's between one and two. and how much is there to really explain about Jason and his background? He isn't exactly they most deep character. he doesn't talk. he has little or no emotion or motivation. and we already know as much as we need to about miss vorhees motives. it's just cashing in on a pre sold franchise.

I'm gonna get lynched for this but...
I thought the TCM remake was better than the original and it still wasn't all that good.

Oh.....you can be assured that just because a character does or doesn't do a certain thing in the original......that THAT fact won't matter a whit to Platinum Dunes. After all, they thought that giving Leatherface eczema was a GRAND idea, and gave the character "pathos".

I enjoyed the Dawn of the Dead remake a lot, I love the original Romero series too but I viewed the remake as something on it's own.
Maybe I'm just not stuck up on things.

Maybe I'm just not stuck up on things. Maybe. And maybe I am. If a movie's good, it's good, and I can't say that for any remake I've seen since this whole remake epidemic began. Especially since the originals are all freakin' classics. Just the concept of a Friday the 13th remake makes me want to vomit.

Actually, the NOTLD remake wasn't half bad with the exception of making Barbara a bad ass instead of a basket case as Judith O'Dea was.

I seriously disagree about Dawn of the Dead being a bad remake. I think it was the best horror remake since The Thing.

I've always wondered why Jason even covers his face in the first place. I mean, I can understand the earlier, non-zombie versions of Jason hiding a facial deformity, but an undead killing machine wouldn't give a damn.

I seriously disagree about Dawn of the Dead being a bad remake. I think it was the best horror remake since The Thing. Agreed. Not only did it good reviews from fans and critics, it also made a profit. That's all a movie can do--get the most people possibly to like it. It's not like it's possible to create a movie that EVERYONE loves, so you just have to convince as many people as you can. It's not remakes that are bad, it's that directors and writers are bad. The proper way to do a remake is to keep the tone, basic plot, and subtext of the original while adding new ideas (ones that don't negate the original premise). It's that simple.

I thought the Chainsaw remake and prequel kicked ass. They are by far my favorite two movies of the series with the original trailing behind. It's better not two speak of the others.
Let's face it, the Friday the 13th series wasn't exactly perfect. It lost itself while making sequel revenue and the room for improvement is massive. I'm pretty excited for this film, actually.

He knows 90% of the game is 50% mental. He knows he has to make an impression!

Jason knows that some of the best, most gratifying kills come when some punk ass bitch that you just impaled on a machete takes his last, stuttering breath, looks at you, terror in his eyes, and goes, "GAWD DAMN, DOG! That Goalie Mask is f***in' TIIIIIGHT*Guuuuurggggllllloleeeeee*"
;D
