So I recently became a vegetarian. I had been considering it for a while, but never quite went through with it. Oddly enough, it wasn't as hard as I thought. Once you get past the first week, it's pretty easy. (And yet, I still eat fast food.)
Has anyone else here become a vegetarian or considered it? If so, did you find it easy or hard?

I'm confused, what kind of vegetarian eats fast food? Most fast foods now have vegetarian meals, like sandwiches with no meat.

I'm a vegetarian. Just wasn't enjoying meat anymore, the taste, texture and smell all put me off. I also don't trust the crud they feed the beasts with and the factory farming is repulsive.

Ironically, Chick-fil-A actually has a good non-meat menu. But yeah, most fast food places do have non-meat meals now. Granted, even those probably aren't healthy, but hey, people get fast food because it's easy. At least that's why I do it.

Yeah, for the past year I've been toying with the idea of going vegetarian. I bought vegetarian cook book and its not too bad.
I don't know.
To be honest - I think of my self more like a lazy carnivore rather than an ardent vegetarian.
If someone brings me meat - I'll probably eat it, but I don't go out of my way to find or cook it.

I've thought a little about it. Nothing serious, but maybe sometime I will really do it.

Mine was a recent decision. Someone explained to me that how I did mine was "flexitarian", which according to them is how I just began eliminating things from my diet, making sure I was adding others.
Red meat was the first to go, then chicken, now I'm working on the fish aspect of it all.
Must say there are some excellent vegetarian cookbooks out there and the recipes in them are fantastic.

I became one about 17 years ago. It's been really easy not eating meat. My town is kind of hippyish anyway so theres a lot of good vegetarian resturants here.

I've tried to change up my eating habits and have went veggie before but I just can't hang. Giving up meat is like trying to kick heroin for me. I would need meat methodone or a meat patch or something. I like vegetables a lot, I just don't like, like them. I could never commit to them solely.

I'm sympathetic. But I still live at home, and come from an Eastern European family...so kicking meat may very well have my citizenship revoked.
But I think maybe someday I'd like to go for it. I'm all ready a skinny guy though, so I think I would have to be really careful. Otherwise I may literally fade away.

I'm a vegetarian and had no problems switching. Dont care for health reasons, I did so because I love animals.

I honestly think I could go veggie if that was an option right now. See, my whole family are huge meat eaters. I've tried telling them meat isn't my thing, but they think I'm crazy. They also make me feel guilty when I don't eat it(I have one of those parents who say, "You either eat what I'm cooking or you starve").
Sigh.
