As unlikely as it once was, do you think Jeff Hardy could possibly win the title at the Royal Rumble, as he is easily one of the 3 most over wrestlers on Raw right now. Or, do you think he isn't ready yet?

Or, do you think he isn't ready yet? (1) He won't, but the ideal situation is to book him strong in defeat. Though, hopefully that's done without another goddamn DQ ending in a Orton-title defense. Oh God, I smell a "Bait & Switch".... (2) He's red hot right now. I wouldn't be shocked ONE BIT AT ALL if he gets a shot at the top strap in this year. And to think, I always thought it would be Matt that was more likely to get a top-title run. |

Better yet, imagine a modified MITB match where after the Rumble, screwed out of WWE title glory......he wants another shot, while HBK himself wants to complete his revenge on Orton. Old vs New collide in a feud as I've described before on these boards, where at WrestleMania him and HBK brawl in a MITB ladder match....which Hardy is put over, and made the #1 top-belt contender against Trips. Hey, daydreams are free and negative consequences-free, right? |

I'd say Jeff has about a 33% chance to win the belt from Randy.
(by my same mental thought pattern, I pegged Y2J at a 70% chance at Armageddon).

A face challenger winning the Title at Wrestlemania while also holding another singles title? Won't happen. I just hope he doesn't get the Scott Steiner/Bob Holly treatment and ends up midcard for life after this.

Jeff Hardy will win the title in 2008. Probably not at Royal Rumble. But MITB sounds like a possibility, with Hardy cashing in at... Summerslam?

Wow. Just when I think I have wrestling fans figured out, I read a thread like this.
Apparently I'm crazy, but him winning the title at the Rumble makes a million kinds of sense to me. Jeff's been on an amazing roll, putting on the best matches of his lifetime, and all of a sudden that should come to a sudden halt by not winning at the Rumble? This is the kind of push that can be killed with one big loss, and they can't afford that. Even if it's a very short-term title reign, and Randy wins it back thanks to some cheap heel tactics, Jeff has to win the belt at the Rumble.
