If Colin Delaney was somehow winning these matches, he would be over with the WWE fans. yeah in wwe losing matches doesnt make you look like a loveable underdog. It makes you look like a loser. Or a world champ if your name is Rey... ;D

As most of us know, Mikey Whipwreck spent a living getting his butt whooped, and cheered for it. People LOVED to see his ass get kicked to hell and back. However, Colin Delany, a young man with a similar, if not the exact same gimmick on ECW, is NOT getting cheered. In fact, when Tazz asked the audience to applaud his bravery for coming out tonight, he was resoundly BOOED. So is Colin Delaney the anti-Whipwreck? Is he just not pitiful enough? Why do people not like seeing him die? The thing is we're a decade and change plus a whole company removed from when Mikey Whipwreck's gimmick came about. WWE fans today want dominant winners not lovable palookas and to WWE fans rooting for the jobbers just isn't the norm. Usually these kind of matches are when the audience figures it's o.k. to get up and go to the bathroom because nothing remotely worth caring about is going to happen.

If you try to force it on them, it won't work. Makes me think of Cena, Orton, Batista and Justin Credible. I don't know why promoters like to force something that's just not there...

To some, he is looked at as a guy who was basically WWF fodder (granted, so were some of the other big stars) but what seperates him in these people's eyes is that he didn't really have that "it" that warranted the title. OK mid-card push? Yeah, that's fine, but championship not so much. Also, his promos are about as forced as the "4 real" and "how do you like me now?"

I'm interested to see where this goes as well.
The feeling sorry and rooting for the jobber face being beaten up isn't being done too well with this. They should make us really feel sorry for him like with that one british home town wrestler that wrestled Umaga in a 3 falls hardcore first blood cage match. Getting him really punished is what could work to make people cheer.

so far I've seen him get beat up by SHelton Benjamin, Big Daddy V and Mark Henry which leads me to the conclusion: Large Black men HATE Colin Delaney Wow, ya know what? I hadn't even noticed that pattern, but you're exactly right. Weird little coincidence there. Now that I think about it, I'm a large black man, when do I get to pummel this guy ?

The funny thing is that this angle is being hurt by having the opposite problem with Charlie Haas as El Chico Blanco does: too much mic time on national tv. Tazz and Styles can talk about having spoken too him backstage as he limps to the ring and cover most of what needs to be said without disturbing the flow of the show.

I can all ways bring him back to life (Yes, black people can ressurect others) then me and the Hawaiian Hammer can get a hold of him.

They should make us really feel sorry for him like with that one british home town wrestler that wrestled Umaga in a 3 falls hardcore first blood cage match. Not to seem picky, but that "one British home town wrestler" was World of Sport mainstay Robbie Brookside, a top quality wrestler in reality. I wish he'd been signed and put in a stable with Taylor and Regal. But I must admit, I don't get why Colin gets booed. what they really need is for him to get absolutely massacred time after time, and phase out the promos, making out he's too hurt, scared and/or nervous to talk. Then when he gets a fluke win, it means more and could get a pop.
