He was getting some pretty big pops last night going on an RKO rampage and I think it is safe to say that his heel world title run hasnt worked out im sure as well as orton has expected or management. Not all of Orton's fault since Cena got injured while him and Orton were in the middle of very good fued. Orton seems to be getting quite a bit of pops especially last night. Pretty good stuff though I didnt like the logic of the ME Orton did some pretty cool crap. I think Orton could pull off a pretty successful face turn if done right.

After watching last night, Id have to agree. I just dont think now is the right time. I said this in another thread, and Ill say it again: People are too obsessed with his run in 2004, which is silly because it wasnt his fault. They threw togather a half assed turn completely out of left field and then proceeded to book him as a total bitch. How was anyone supposed to get over like that? If they put a solid effort into booking him as a face, it would work

He is a natural heel. He lacks the likeability for a face.

I think the right time would've been after his match with Edge last year. Right at the end of Rated RKO. He played the face in the match perfectly. He knows how to alter his wrestling style for whatever situation, and the crowd was massively behind him. They'll need to replicate another situation like that again to get it started. If they could, I think it could work.

The guy sucks even worse at being a face than he does at being a heel.
He was pushed waaay too early last time, and waaaaay too early this time. Should've been given much more time to develop as the young cocky IC champ.

I agree that it's time. As I stated in another thread last night, Orton's face-like RKO massacre in the main event was the first time I'd marked for the guy in ages. The crowd was way into him, and if they keep his character a badass instead of booking him like someone's bitch as they did in 2004, he'd be over as hell.

He's done everything but bite the head off a baby rabbit and we're supposed to suddenly find him likable? Wasn't this why Orton Face Turn #1 didn't work?

No. His first face turn didn't work because Triple H made him look like a bitch for 6 months. Also, since when do actions when one is a heel affect a face turn? Triple H beat Ric Flair within an inch of his life, did the same to Shawn Michaels, but the crowd is still "YAY, Triple H!".

He is a natural heel. He lacks the likeability for a face. I say just keep him evil, make him even more sociopathic, desperate, dangerous and he CAN STILL KILL YOU WITHOUT CHEATING, and you've got yourself a full character.

So you're basically saying make him actually sociopathic, desperate, and dangerous. I know sociopaths, I have dated sociopaths, and Randy Orton is NO sociopath. Because Sociopaths are actually...you know...ENTERTAINING!

Why do people keep saying his heel title run hasn't worked out?

The reason his 2004 face turn didn't work out wasn't beause Triple H was ALLEGEDLY!!!! sabotaging it. It didn't work because they guy had just spent a year being a despicable scumbag who starts shit then has Evolution do his dirty work for him (i.e. his Foley feud), then when he gets kicked out of the club we're supposed to root for him? Ummm, no, sorry. Boo f***ing hoo.

Ummm, no, sorry. Boo smurfing hoo. He was over when he turned face. The crowd was already cheering him in Evolution. They didn't stop caring until he lost to Triple H at Unforgiven just weeks after winning the title. Then he KEPT LOSING!!! to Triple H at every turn, never getting the upper hand when it really counted, and on top of it, WWE took the trademark arrogance out of his character. And if you read my post properly, I never say that Triple H was sabotaging him. I wasn't talking about backstage politic BS. But on TELEVISION Triple H was making Orton's character look like a bitch. I don't care who is responsible for it, that is a fact.

I think I disagree with just about every bit of this. I think Orton is a natural heel and works best that way. I think I would call the latest title run a success. I also think he shouldn't even drop the belt at Mania, but I'm nearly 100% sure that's going to happen.

That's what it was directed at, not you.

That's what it was directed at, not you. It's not really a conspiracy when the top guy who also has his hand in the booking is regularly stealing your heat for an extended period of time. I think people go a little crazy on that stuff, but the bottom line is that Orton should have been the one attacking Triple H, taking over Evolution and having a face Triple H chasing after him. That's the right booking move in that situation as far as that's concerned- and they did the complete opposite.
