After reading this clap-trap about John Cena's dad doing a TNA show, and there being some heat on him about it, I have to say that that might be the fakest piece of garbage I've ever read.

99% of any news reported in 1999 was so retardedly over the top and bulls*** it wasn't even funny. At one point in time or another, everyone from WWF was gonna debut on Nitro TONIGHT!!!!!

I remember two weeks before Wrestlmania XX I read report and posted it here (well back at the old board) that the WWE was going to unveil a new logo at WMXX to signify the end of the Attitude Era.
I felt like such a tool when it did not happen. But I got over it.

Yes, I remember how bad 1999 NEWZ was. I didn't have the net at my house until 2000, but in '99 I would go to my friends house a couple of times a week and we would check out the wrestling news.
I think it was late in 1999, after Russo had been in WCW for a few weeks and the news was 100% CONFIRMED that D'Lo Brown's WWF contract had expired and he has signed with WCW and was going to receive a massive push from Russo and Ferrera. It wasn't just one site, it was several that reported this. At least 6 or 7 that we checked regularly.
My friend and I were pumped and watched Nitro closely in anticipation for D'Lo's debut. Yet, D'Lo came out on Raw as usual doing his thing.

In 1997 to 1999 if you believed message boards and chat rooms, wrestlers seemed to be dying on a daily basis. Jim neidhart, alex wright, craig pittman, harley race, sting, al snow, viscera, and even sid vicious (anyone who used to post to the rec.sport.pro-wrestling newsgroup knows what im talking about with that last one), all reported erroneously dead.
