WWE hasnt had a non title match as the main event since the LT/Bigelow thing and only Hogan/Sid and the first MAnia before that. I can't see them ever changing, regardless of whether or not Ric Flair supposedly could have made his match the main.

Flair is an unequalled class act for this, but he should have let it be last. Mania 24 wasn't about edge/Taker or Cena/HHH/Orton for me, or millions of others. It was about Flair, he should have gone on last. The spotlight on the robe/boots would have quite possibly been the greatest Mania ending ever- it'd have basically closed the book on an era as the show closed out itself.

Flair should have accepted the spot. Nobody else deserved the honour of wrapping Mania up than Ric Flair.

He should have went ahead and agreed because while the rest of the show was good it was like after Hogan/Rock WM 18, nothing after the match between Flair/HBK compared. I agree completely. Hogan/Rock was the second most exhausting match, emotionally, that I have ever seen, after last night's match between HBK and Flair. Keep in mind, this is someone who saw Hogan/Rock live and someone who saw Flair/Michaels on pay-per-view. While I know Flair respects a championship, this should have been the final match. This was THE MOST emotional match I have ever seen, live or on ppv, and that includes the aforementioned WM X-8. Nothing Hogan could do could compare to Flair. To each his own as I liked Hogan/Rock better than Flair/HBK as I don't think anything Flair could do that could compare to Hogan.
