I dunno. I won't disagree that the story itself is good, but looking at the tapes from that era, I think they really botched the double turn, because when Fuji turned on the Demos, the fans didn't really have a clue who to boo and who to cheer for. Fuji turned on the heels to turn the babyfaces heel while the heels turned babyface.

Meh, I tend to disagree with his opinions on matches.. a lot.

A quick scan through of this and I can say one of his duds is one of the matches I remember with extreme fondness watching it as a child: Martel/Roberts.

Jake Roberts vs. Rick Martel: They actually mean the blindfold match was a dud? Awesome angle, and innovative, crowd-involving match.
Earthquake vs. Greg Valentine: Keeping a monster going
The Legion of Doom vs. Power & Glory: Establishing the hot newcomers anybody? I felt sorry for P&G though
Owen Hart vs. Skinner: Again, newcomer needs to start somewhere

Adding the Blindfold Match and PoP v Demos and the Nostalgia Battle Royal is further proof the good people who came up with such ratings are elitist tools who can't watch and judge a match past its "workrate value".

In other words, if it's not 50 minutes of chainwrestling, or a spotfest, or involving one of the Golden Boys of Real Wrestling, it's an average match, or a piece of crap. Almost by default.

I never really liked that match, but the live crowd was way into it, which means a helluva lot more than some bitter net smark who complains about how grown men pretend to fight each other for a living.

I think he's got to be giving that rating to the Wrestlemania IV Hulk/Andre match which sucked 10 different kinds of dick and had a Bullcrap Double DQ finish.

If he ranks the WM III main event with negative stars he should have his privileges to write about wrestling revoked.
