I also think the Batmen vigilantes need to be touched on again.
Think about this: if Batman is now an outlaw in the eyes of Gotham City, then having the copycats vilifies him more to the public.
Especially if these copycats end up killing other criminals, or perhaps now innocents.
And what better way for a villian to make trouble for the Batman? Heck the Scarecrow could do this. Start getting some average joes high on some hallucinogenic compounds and dress them up like Batman, then send them out to do the dirty work.
Not necessarily a major plot to build a whole movie out of, but it adds enough to show just how dangerous Batman's quest is now.

One thing we have to remember, is that only Gordon (And his family, was it just me or was his wife just beautiful?) knows Batman is innocent. So it's not like Scarecrow or any other villain would come back and say "lol lets destroy batman's credibility again!" Unless of course, the villain knows about Batman's code against killing. Then we have another deep, philosophical plot! Yay!

Very true, but Gordon can't just run out and chat with Batman whenever he feels like it now. Especially if you introduce a replacement for Dent in the DA's office who is vehemently against him (think Janice Porter from the Dark Victory miniseries). Unless of course, the villain knows about Batman's code against killing. Then we have another deep, philosophical plot! Yay! Hey, as long as Nolan does it, I'm all for philosophical plots.

I do have one complaint: how does no one realize that Bruce Wayne is Batman? He uses Wayne Enterprises tech (yes, I realize that there was a subplot with the accountant, but it didn't go far enough), and Batman showed up at a benefit for Harvey Dent at Bruce's penthouse. I do realize that there was a whole "Is Dent Batman or not?" subplot, but think about it, unless Dent can see into the future, it doesn't make any sense. How would he know that the Joker is going to show up, somehow plant a suit somewhere where it can't be seen, have time to get into it without being seen, and go after the Joker? Doesn't everything point to Bruce Wayne as Batman? I think the more important question is why does no on know that Superman is Clark Kent? All he does is take of his glasses. Seriously, thats got to be the worst disguise ever, yet no one notices. I think that everyone in Metropolis is just really, really stupid.

My one disappointment is that Scarecrow had only that one small part. This actually bothered me a bit... Not so much that he only had a small part, but that he was sort of marginalized as a weak villain. It would be very difficult to bring him back now as a serious threat. Not really, he can be part of a group trying to get Batman, or make a variation of the compound so that Batman is effected by it again. I personally liked his small roll because it didn't get in the way of the movie, but it showed that these guys are still out there and just because they aren't the main villain of the movie doesn't mean they have just disapeared.

I think that everyone in Metropolis is just really, really stupid. Either that, or seriously afraid as to what would happen if they found out. So it's very likely 3/4 of the population have figured it out, but don't want to risk getting incinerated with heat vision, or getting crushed in their house while sleeping. After all, State Farm and Nationwide don't cover Superman-related deaths on their life insurance policies.

Well, Superman does do more then take his glasses off, but I get the point.
He does do his hair different, hold his posture different, speak differently and just all around act like a different person. But yeah, people should be able to figure it out... especially a bunch of reporters he works with.

Also, weekend actuals are in. TDK pulled in $75,166,466 giving it a total haul of $313,781,677 so far.
This puts it at number two for the year behind Iron Man's $314,925,955 (which TDK will pass today), and number number 23 All-Time behind Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring's $314,776,170.
It did set the record for largest second weekend and fastest to $300m this weekend.

Saw the movie on Friday. I had already watched The X-Files and was going to go home but I just couldn't help myself. It was really good and definitely lived up to all the hype. Although it was a little long and I didn't really like the ending. Or maybe I just didn't get it.

So how is Joker able to limp out of a semi truck crash, yet Batman hits a curb on his little Batpod and is knocked the hell out?? I thought it was funny that they showed that clip in the previous trailers, and every time it seemed like he turned on a dime and came back to face the Joker. Then, in the movie, he runs into the truck??!!! F*** the heck?
