How good was Tom Marquez and Chilly Willy? I heard about them, but I never seen them wrestle. I remember Chilly Willy's gimmick being he was everybody's homeboy (He was announced as being from wherever they were that night) The crowd seemed to get into him. I heard he whipped mucho ass the night XPW showed up to their parking lot and that's why he got a push. I also thought he got a developmental deal with WWE a while back. Now that I think about it I remember WAY too much about Chilly Willy.

I seem to remember Tully Blanchard getting a "Boring" chant there. That was because him and Shane Douglas had an hour wrestling match in ECW. Seriously, could you imagine watching an 80's old school wrestling match on an ECW card? How about Droz? He was there for a bit. I would also like to admit that I still mark for The Clap

being hated doesn't mean you're not over. if you're a heel and you're hated you're over. not being over is like rob conway. Even when he was supposed to be face I mean, I am believe it or not aware that the bad guys are supposed to be booed. Dreamer wasn't over until his feud with The Sandman

Chilly Willy was ALWAYS over everywhere he went, he was always billed as from ... wherever the show was being held.

3 pages and no one has mentioned Uganda, better known as Giant Kamala 2 a 10 year plus veteran of AJPW and a very under-appreciated big man with a passion for wrestling the likes of which I have never seen before.
It's a shame he will always be compared to the original Kamala, because Kamala 2 (Real name Ben Peacock) was a solid performer who could take great bumps for a dude his size.
I'm surprised WWE or WCW never called him up.It's not much of a surprise when they ignore a small but talented indy wrestler for not looking marketable or not having enough experience, but how can they look past a 400 lb monster with more then 15 years in the business?

It'd be pretty damn hard for him not to be compared to the original Kamala considering he had notable stints in WWF and WCW/NWA, especially the way he was dressed/painted up.

^Forgot about Damien Kane, wasn't over in the least. I don't think Tommy Rogers wasn't over either from what I can recall of his short stint there in 97-98. If you call opening cards and being greeted with chants of "Who are you? Who are you?" as not being over. Oh wait, that's actually why he wasn't over. Nobody knew who he was without Jackie Fulton with him. 1998 was around the time Paul Heyman raided the old World Class and UWF rosters from the late '80s, so a lot of the fans didn't know who in the blue hell they were, because they haven't main-evented in 10 years. Out of all those outcasts from the previous decade, the only one who got over was Jack Victory. That's right, Brian Knobbs' twin was the Wile E. Coyote of ECW, and he did a tremendous job.

It's often forgotten that Sandman/Dreamer wasn't the first Singapore Caning Match; that honor goes to Sandman and "Iron Man" Tommy Cairo. A year or so later, when Dreamer was getting over with the fans, they brought Cairo back in for a few shows (I believe it was Raven bringing back someone from Dreamer's past early in their feud)
"Iron Man" Tommy Cairo was decidely not over then.

The last few years were pretty rotten, compared to 94-96, so I imagine several people weren't over... especially once the TNN era began.
