If you hadn't noticed the Star Wars: Clone Wars flick didn't quite live up to the movies that came before it taking in a sad 14million over the weekend and on the Wednesday daily it came in 5th on only it's 6th day out.
I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not though.
Now did this happen because, it's Animated, it's horrible (17% on rotten tomatoes), people would rather see Dark Knight for a 5th time, or maybe Star Wars as a franchise is just dead plain and simple?

To me there was no point to it. Even with the two crappy prequels, the movies are fine. Leave it alone, dammit.

Clone Wars was released already? I thought it was coming out tomorrow...Oh well. From the looks of that box office intake, everybody else forgot as well.
It being animated was not a wise move.

Or people are ignorant and afraid of new things when it comes to Star Wars. If it doesn't resemble the original trilogy or has anything to do with the prequels, they're not interested.

Apparently, it's just 3 episodes of the series put together. It's like having WWE: The Movie and just having an episode of Smackdown on.
I blame the new character they put in, though, cause I don't like her.

I think it was the animation which looked horrible, and the fact someone would go didn't I already see Clone Wars why is hollywood remaking it already.

I saw it and thought it was average to be honest. There are far worse films out there and the action scenes were pretty cool.

Regardless of what anyone may say, this cannot be looked at as an "official" part of Star Wars... as the story has already been complete. All the necessary parts have been told in the six movies, so the "By the way, this also happened" stories aren't going to get much notoriety.
For the franchise, if they want to do big numbers again.. it'll have to be a live-action movie set before The Phantom Menace, or after Return Of The Jedi.

Lucas has said he expected it make around 30 million since it is just a TV pilot He knew since it wasn't live action it wasn't going to make that much money

The animation looks like a Timesplitters 3 Cutscene.
"Save the empire...skywalker must"
"Alright...It's time to SPLIT!"

Because people know it's just a cheap, grab some cash from the theater goers, television pilot. I'm still going to go see it because I'm a freak. But the general public doesn't care.

We can go ahead and cut out "Star Wars as a franchise is dead". That is far and away from the real reason. Dead franchises don't have 6 movies, none of which made less then $300+million at the box office.
The reason is because it was a horrible movie with horrible animation. The trailers didn't do anything to make people think otherwise either, as it only confirmed how sorry the animation was. If it was done nicely and had a better release date it may have done something.
Honestly, even at $14m it's doing better then I personally thought it would.

Wow the last TMNT animated movie that came out last summer did like 10 million better. LOL I watched TMNT the other night, and it wasn't that bad. I'm not going to see The Clone Wars because the animation looks gawdawful. First Lucas foists Jar Jar on us, and emo Anakin Skywalker, and now a substandard animated movie? To quote Gorilla Monsoon, "Will you stop?"

I didn't see it because I don't like the Clone wars saga.
The only good things were the Cartoon Network series & Revenge of the Sith.
I have no problems with anything Star Wars outside of the OT because i like the games & the books.
