Scared me as a kid? How about things that STILL scare me from when I was a kid?
1. Ever since the first time I saw Beetlejuice, I've been afraid of bridges.
2. Grasshoppers. They just freak me the heck out.

I use to be scared of the many religious statues we had in our house. We use to have a few on our kitchen table and sometimes I would be too afraid to eat there because of how life like they were. I too was scared of a statue when I was a kid, but it wasnt in my house. The park near my house had a statue of a person his/or her arms crossed (at least i think so). faced down. Any NY crappers happen to know what im talking about,it was located in Kew Gardens-Queens?

I was terrified of the wolf when I was a child in Disney`s 3 Little Pigs. The scene where he hides in a basket under sheep skin still freaks me out yet. Even thinking about it now the hairs on my arms are all standing up.

Anyone remember Return to Oz? Remember these weird creatures in the movie known as Wheelers?
When I was a little, me and my two sisters would stay with my Dad and Grandma during holidays, and almost every time this would be one of the movies we watched. Thinking back, I'm pretty sure they were all conspiring to torture me, because every time these Wheelers came on the tv, I would run upstairs, to find somewhere to hide for the rest of the movie.

I remember when I was 6 or 7, my aunt had this picture of Jesus in her house with the crown of thorns and blood dripping out, and it was like a hologram or something, so it had a 3D look to it, like he was right there in the room. It didn't really scare me, but it always startled me when I turned that corner, even though I knew it was there. Eventually I got over it though.

That whole movie was creepy. When you only had the original Wizard of Oz musical film as a reference to Oz this thing was demented.

I remember back in the day on one of those kid shows, they had a cartoon about kids who were afraid of the dark, they called in something called the Room Noodles to take care of the monsters or whatever. Honestly, I was fine with the monsters and stuff, it was the damn room noodles and their theme song that scared the holy crap out of me. Holy crap, I remember that segment being on Nickelodeon's Pinwheel. That was an odd little short, no two ways about it. EDIT: To keep things on topic, the game over screen from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. The shadow of Gannon, the fact that it was sprinkling Link's blood on Gannon's ashes that brought him back to life, and that damn evil laugh. I shudder just thinking about it. Nowadays, the game scares me for a wholly different reason... I don't know what the f*** to do! But I digress.

I personally loved the Tales From The Crypt intro as a kid.
The only thing that I guess you would call strange was a short lived fear of clowns I developed after watching Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

The Creepy Crawlers song
Than again, most toy commercials got creepy at the end, with the toys just standing there in a grey room or whatever while a fast-speaking disembodied voice warns of battery disclusion, figure separation and the occasional "figures do not move on their own".

The Living Forest stage in MK2. As a kid, I could never play that level without being scared.

When re-runs of the original Gong Show were played on GSN, I used to love it, EXCEPT for the Unknown Comic. Now I love the guy.
What still scares me: Infomercials and the syndicated jewlery shopping thing where they just spin rings around on this rotating platform for hours with elevator muzak in the background.

The Ghostbusters logo.
Before the movie came out, they ran a teaser of it with this ghost forming from mist before the Big red crossout thing closed around it. The first, and to my knowledge, only time I saw it, it scared the ever loving crap out of me, because I had no idea what it was for. The sad part? I was 9. When the movie came out and I saw it on VHS, I lost that fear pretty quickly. But I still vividly remember that.
Oh, and the trailer for the 70's movie Magic got me crying up a storm, thanks to the dummy's eyes moving back and forth in the dark...brrrrrrr.
