Rimmer: Lister, last time, I only failed by the narrowest of narrow margins. Lister: You what? You went in there, wrote "I AM A FISH" four hundred times, did a funny little dance and fainted! Rimmer: That's a total lie. Lister: No it's not. Peterson told me. Rimmer: "No it's not. Peterson told me." Lister, if you must know, I submitted a discourse on porous circuitry that was too...radical, too unconventional, too mold-breaking for the examiners to accept. Lister: Yeah. You said you were a fish!
Lister: You see, I try sir. I'm not an insubordinate man by nature. I try and respect Rimmer and everything, but it's not easy cos he's such a smeghead. Rimmer: Did you hear that sir? Lister, do you have any conception of the penalty for describing a superior technician as a smeghead? Todhunter: Oh Rimmer. You are a smeghead!
Rimmer: I'm telling you, things are better this way. It's our universe that's the wrong way round. Kryten: Take war. War is a wonderful thing here. In 50 years time the second World War will start. Backwards. Cat: And that's a good thing? Kryten: Millions of people will come to life. Hitler will retreat across Europe, liberate France and Poland, disband the Third Reich and bog off back to Austria.

(while hunting for the Emohawk) Lister: It's the barrel! [shoots the barrel] Sorry, false alarm. [they continue hunting] Lister: That chain. It's moving! [shoots the chain] Sorry, sorry. Kryten: Sir, try and remain calm. You're experiencing a classic knee-jerk paranoid reaction to a terror situation. It's essential at this time that we-- IT'S THE WALL!!! [shoots the wall]

Lister: Cat do you watch the Flintstones? Cat: Yeah. Lister: D'ya think Wilma's sexy? Cat: Wilma Flintstone? Lister: Maybe we've been alone in deep space too long, but every time I see that show, her body drives me crazy. Is it me? Cat: I think, in all probability, Wilma Flintstone is the most desirable woman that ever lived. Lister: That's good. I thought I was going strange. Cat: She's incredible! Lister: What d'ya think of Betty? Cat: Betty Rubble? Well, I would go with Betty... but I'd be thinking of Wilma. Lister: This is crazy. Why are we talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone? Cat: You're right. We're nuts. This is an insane conversation. Lister: She'll never leave Fred, and we know it.

Holly: Time's a great healer... unless it's a rash, then you're better off with ointment.
Rimmer: Holly, give me a fried egg and chilli chutney sandwich. Holly: You what? Lister: It's a state of the art sandwich! Holly: It's the state of the floor I'm worried about.
Cat: Forget red alert, I'm about to go on brown alert. Kryten: But sir, there's no such thing as brown alert. Cat: You won't be saying that in a minute, and don't say I didn't alert you.
I'd say the first couple of seasons are absolute classic, with the scenes revolving around Lister and Rimmer just talking being the pinnacle of Red Dwarf. The later series were still good but much more sci-fi and with more variety in the stories. The last season had a great return to the Lister/Rimmer scenes when they are stuck in the prison cell together though. There is actually a completed script for the movie, but they haven't been able to get any studios interested, at least with all the original cast members, which is the only way they want to do it. I think it's been written for a while.

I've got all the DVDs too
I think one of my favorites is when they went to Justice World and Lister was all worried about the crimes he committed as a youth whereas Rimmer so much as returned a library book late
And it was just that look Rimmer gave after Lister was cleared, expecting to be cleared himself........Just an awesome face
Also "I've always had a bit of a blind spot with 7's"

I'm sure there were a few times before Rimmer became a Hard-Light Hologram (Or whatever the correct name for it was, I might be wrong) where Rimmer made contact with solid objects. I can't remember how they explained it but I think they did anyway. rimmer couldn't touch ANYTHING during his "softlight" years (see him walk through a table in series one), only in TIMESLIDES was he able to handle things ..... as he inexplicably became a "real boy"!! after LEGION jigged his holo-unit from soft to HARD, he could touch anything ..... like a puncture repair kit ..... presumibly ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

It was explained in the book that he was infact suspended a millionth of an inch off the bed. So infact he wasn't really lying on the bed at all.

I think all the things on the ship that Rimmer interacts with are also holograms put there by Holly. Or something.

But how could he pull his blanket over his body? well his clothes and hair styles are also part of his hologram as we have seen from holly changing both of them over the years.. perhaps his blanket is also a hologram ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)
