All I have to say about this is:

Vote Ezekiel 08.

It wasn't the name change that bothered me. It wasn't the fact that he lost that bothered me.
But that pre-match promo was AWFUL. Not the kind of thing to ruin his career. But, it was just really lame. Maybe if it was a better established character it might come across better. But for the debut of a guy, it just made him look like one of those guys who tries too hard to be funny.
It seems they're going with the comedy type gimmick for him. Fine. Just that when you choose a gimmick like that, above all else it must be FUNNY. Usually WWE writers seem to do a good enough job with comedy. Triple H usually gets some good lines. Santino is always gold. Miz and Morrison get good material. I was just disappointed to see him given such a lame gag to work with.
Why not a good knock knock joke? Oh wait...

Some would say that Cabana kinda tries too hard to be funny as it is. I guess not everyone found the promo funny, I did and didn't Evan Bourne debut with a loss? I think he'll be ok.

I thought he was pretty great, myself. I mean, it was a little 10 second promo to introduce himself to the audience. If you were expecting to fall out of your chair from that, youre expectations were too high.

I always get upset at the name changes, but I should know by now. Maybe fans can chant Colt Cabana during all his matches till WWE is forced to address it. No, that will never happen. Not unless Colt agrees to sign the name over to Vince.

Colt Cabana was pretty funny. I can see s*** happening for him. I'm just praying for him goin' to Raw in next year's draft. (If he's even around that long.) Second City Saints = Tag Titles mattering again. Bank on it.
THE Brian Kendrick is alright in the ring as always, but he could use a manager for the promos. We really need a modern day Heenan or somebody else to manage all the guys with this lack of mic skills.

I found his little video package funny, funny works for Santino, funny can work for Cabana.
Just a shame he lost his first match, could have had Stevie job.

Santino is always gold. Miz and Morrison get good material. I was just disappointed to see him given such a lame gag to work with. Why not a good knock knock joke? Oh wait... As others have said, you got it backwards. Cabana was given very, very, very little to work with. The promo time was extremely short and he did the best he could. He was his usual wacky babyface self while talking. Look at it this way: at least he GOT promo time. While he didn't hit the Colt 45 and pin Kendrick in the middle of the ring for the World Heavyweight title, he did get to pull off at least a few of his signature spots, there was some Euro-style wristlock action early in the match, the Butt-Butt, and he also got some kneeknock shuffling in early in as well. He also did a fantastic job of selling Kendrick's offense and made the match seem more meaningful than a throwaway squash. When they two started brawling in the middle of the ring, it almost looked like Cabana would get the upper hand. He did the best he could with what he had and did a really good job, all things considered. Kendrick, on the other hand, absolutely sucked in his promo, and Zeke sucked as hard as he usually does. You kind of wish the E would let him go back to more of his Leonardo Di Caprio ladies' man character from Zero One, almost like a Rick Rude-esque kind of thing. He's much easier to buy as a crapweasel who would steal your girlfriend than as some kind of awesome heel wrestler.

Second City Saints = Tag Titles mattering again. Bank on it. Yeah, sure. The E will reform the Second City Saints, actually call them "the Second City Saints," and have Cabana and Punk relive the end of WMXX in the ring together, each holding a world title, at next year's mania, while JR and King put over Ring of Honor. Uh-huh. Not going to happen, duder.

just to make sure we're clear the name scotty goldman equals epic fail.

I've said it before, but I still say my plan's the best: Punk and Colt become the champions of their brands, have a unification match where they reenact the epic battle that was Hogan vs. Nash, and the two go on to rule the WWE with an iron fist.
They also get to travel time, and fight ninjas. And they have a robot.
...
You should all thank your lucky stars I'm not in charge.

COLT!!!!
Awesome.
Oh, and I'm not big on the name, but it looks like he'll get the Sydal/Bourne treatment. Which is a good thing. They'll start putting him over jobbers and lower-midcarders in a week or 2. Maybe he'll get the win in a tag match...

aside from having the worst name ever (Evan Bourne atleast sounds cool) it was Colt being Colt...
The worst part of him being Scotty Goldman is we won't ever hear Copa Cabana in the WWE
