Why do some people seem to think you are racist if you are only attracted to white people? Doesn't that just highlight their ignorance? So if you only fancy males does that make you sexist?

It depends if you're also white. If so, then no, that doesn't make you automatically racist.
I know in my case, I might be (well, I actually was accused) of being a bit of of a racist against my own race (since I have no interest in dating Dominican men). I guess it depends who you ask, there isn't really a yes or no to this question.

I'm a black chick and I'm only attracted to white dudes (Irish the most) and I've been called a racist by other blacks (males). It's mostly the 'gangbangers' that get all up tight about it, but I don't care, I like white dudes only.

If you say "I prefer white chicks" then no racism there. Just a matter of personal preference.
Now, if you said "I prefer white chicks, because they are of the superior race", then yeah, thats a little over the line, perhaps.

I agree, it doesn't make you racist. From what I've gathered, a lot of people are only attracted to their own race. Then there's others who are only attracted to another.
As for me...
I like black chicks, white chicks, middle of the night chicks
I like dark chicks, light chicks, chicks who like to fight chicks
...so long as they don't whip out dongs that are bigger than mine.
