That's sad news. One thing I'm curious about is that given Taker is apparently such a devotee to kayfabe he'd probably want to keep up his mystique to the end. So what would be a convincing storyline or method of having The Deadman finally 'rest in peace' for good after Mania 25? The match he has is so devastating it finally takes it's toll on him and he just ends up becoming one with the force vanishing in some sort of elaborate smoke & mirrors display not unlike the 1994 royal rumble idea but less silly.

for 18 years hes been doing the tombstone, a 320 lb man dropping on his knees!! that cant have helped matters.
I heard he cant straighten his elbow, his hips are shot, and his finger was dislocated the other week and he jus popped it back inplace during the match.

Sadly, I think it's over for him. Wouldn't suprise me if Wrestlemania in his hometown is where he retires From the words of JR: "Firstly I would be surprised if Taker ever loses at 'Mania and would be shocked if he lost his last match at the WWE's marquis event. Any one thinking this is a viable idea is an idiot in my opinion." Then, call me an idiot.

Wrestlemania 25 in his home state would be perfect if they're planning his retirement. Personally, and I know it's been done to death, but I'd like to see Taker/Kane as his final match.

Regardless of what J.R. says, Taker losing his final match at Mania would be the best way to close his career.
If Ric f'n Flair lost his last match, sure Undertaker can lose his last one too. Streak or no streak.

I agree, but then again I thought losing to Randy Orton or Edge would be considered elevating the young lads.
C'mon, nobody beats the power of Bob Orton's cast!

I'd rather see Undertaker retire at Survivor Series What better way to end your WWE career than at the place that started it?

If he does decide to go out putting someone over, it better be someone who a) deserves it & b) appreciates it.

Well, guess who's gettin' kayfabe banished again.
Who's up for (yet another) old-fashioned banishin'?

Give me a break. Taker could not be that bad. If he knees and Hips where that bad, Then he be moving like Hulk Hogan. No way he could do half the things he does if he was in that bad of health. He runs pretty damn good in a match for someone that is supost to be that bad.
Lets think about this. If he knees where so bad. How come he never had surgeries ever on them? What about knee braces? He never wears one and everyone else who has bad knees do. Part time or not doesn't matter. If your health supost to be that bad, then no matter what. Your still would be showing problems during a match. He not moving like Hogan had been for years and Hogan is a lot slower and Taker is bigger in size then Hogan.
You heard from who that he can't straighten his arm. Watch his matches people. At one time or another both his arms do go straight.
I'm not going to believe it until I see it.

This is news?
His knees were bad when he dissappeared in like 1999 before he came back as the Biker. It's why he started using the Last Ride to keep his knees going.

So what would be a convincing storyline or method of having The Deadman finally 'rest in peace' for good after Mania 25? Let him be Bikertaker for his last run up to Mania, and after he wins (or loses, if he's willing to) at Mania 25, have him do that fist pump thing he'd do, climb onto his bike, and ride off into the sunset.

Appearances can be deceptive.
No doubt he could go on for years, then spend the rest of his life in constant pain. Or go on till his body breaks like so many before him.

As much as I like him, if he feels it's time to hang up the boots now to avoid more pain later, he should.

It NEWZ people. Just freaking look at him when he wrestles. He if he is in so much pain like people believe he is in. Why doesn't he show it in the ring? You see knee braces at anytime on Taker? No. And for somebody who people say had knee problems back from 99. Almost Ten years ago, he would had them by now.
Which even then was not really the case. The reason why he went out in 99 was a groin injury and being just banged up. Which not a surpise being that was the first time off he really had since 94. Outside a month here and there, Taker didn't take very little time off.
Taker didn't do the Last ride be of he knees. It was the WWE had the big deal about Piledrivers in general. Nobody did them. Taker still used in for special moments. Then he started do it again because they know he can do it without hurt anybody. Come on people Taker was doing that move on he knees from 90 to 99. Ten years of impact, and yet not one surgery. Explain that to me. If he was that bad, Why wasn't there any surgery or a sign of any extra padding at all on his legs?

Like somebody said he has nothing left to prove. He should take a permanent sabbatical instead of a grand retirement tour like Flair.
