Results from the Smackdown/ECW house show in Lisbon, Portugal from last night has this: www.f4wonline.com/content/view/6844/"-Taker's knees were shot. Before his match even began he was punching some feeling into them. Then during the match he looked really limited compared to how he can normaly go. Out of everybody in the match he was easily the one that spent less time in the ring (for obvious reason)."

Well he is getting up there in years.
Don't be surprised to see Big Show put a hurting on 'Taker at No Mercy and see 'Taker...well, taking one of his sabatticals.

Sadly, I think it's over for him. Wouldn't suprise me if Wrestlemania in his hometown is where he retires

Before his match even began he was punching some feeling into them. Ok, that just can't be good at all.

If Taker leaves for a good while, I just can't see Edge NOT coming back as a babyface.

Sadly, I think it's over for him. Wouldn't suprise me if Wrestlemania in his hometown is where he retires From the words of JR: "Firstly I would be surprised if Taker ever loses at 'Mania and would be shocked if he lost his last match at the WWE's marquis event. Any one thinking this is a viable idea is an idiot in my opinion."

Old guy whos very tall and has been taking bumps for the past 20 years... It was bound to happen.
I'd assume they have Big Show injure him, and have him start returning around Rumble for MIND GAMES! and the finale at Mania...

Taker could still win at WM and have it be his last match. I'd never break Taker's streak, personally, but I don't think his last match being at Mania is a dumb idea either.

Before his match even began he was punching some feeling into them. Ok, that just can't be good at all. Yeah, it is a big deal. That's was what I noticed was my time that I needed to go get help for my knees was when I was doing our PT Running, and had to punch feeling (and my kneecaps back into place) back into my knees. It's NEVER a good sign.

When taker came back to smackdown, during the promo he kneeled in the middle of the ring, doing his thing, i swear i heard him wince.
I convinced myself it was my imagination.
This thread makes me sad, maybe it wasn't my imagination.

He should retire. Im not saying that because i want him to retire, i love Taker. But his legacy is cemented forever now, there is nothing left for him to accomplish as an in ring competitor- why risk more damage?

Its too bad but he should hang them up before it gets to serious. Hes been a favorite since I was young but Id rather see him retire than be a shell of himself.
First post by the way

That's sad news. One thing I'm curious about is that given Taker is apparently such a devotee to kayfabe he'd probably want to keep up his mystique to the end. So what would be a convincing storyline or method of having The Deadman finally 'rest in peace' for good after Mania 25?

I would hate to see him go, but he should retire for his health.
