Alright I get the point that he was terrible with money, and if he wasn't ECW would probably still exist today. But that has absolutely nothing to do with how great this man was at booking talent and writing angles. I also love how someone brought up the fact that the WWE has been around forever and Vince McMahon is so much smarter than Paul. Vince is a much better business man than Paul and has a very good grasp on the business, but I still don't think he is better at booking talent and the creative part. Vince had some really great ideas in the 80s with the Rock N Wrestling connection, but honestly it was just Vince putting a boat load of money into the WWF. He bought out the best talent from the NWA, got rock stars and other celebrities to get involved in the company and then got Hulk Hogan to be that man that the whole company would revolve around. However if Vince didn't have the millions of dollars to put this together he would be nothing. Paul started ECW with next to nothing and made it one of the most sucessful brands of wrestling. Also if ECW never existed it is very likely the WWF would have folded around 97/98. The whole attitude era was a complete rip off of ECW. WWF lost alot of talent to WCW and was sinking into the ground. But thanks to ideas like DX, Hart turning heel and Austin turning face the company started a rebound, also the new edgier programming that was targeted more towards young adults than children. Vince always made his programming child friendly to that point, and for a while it was sucessful. He never would have made that turn if ECW didn't exist, he probably thought it wouldn't work.
