I have to work nights so I just watched Cena's interview on Raw right after the Morrison/Punk match, which I had to record. Since Cena has come back he has gotten amazing reactions. Usuaully you can clearly hear a percentage of the fans booing him, but not since his comeback. However when he was introduced for his interview on Raw I once again clearly heard the booing I was used to hearing. Then he started bringing up points about Jericho and once again the nearly all of fans were on his side. Basically what I am saying is the reason Cena is getting a better reaction is caused by Jericho being so over as a heel or not?

Fans had time to get over a lot of their issues with him, and he's sort of fresh again. I do think Jericho being a good heel helps a lot, though.
The fact PHILLY fans got behind him makes me think people in general have given him some slack. These are the people who boo Santa.

I think it's neither. Around Royal Rumble last year, people were cheering Cena a lot more. When he's just back and hasn't been force fed down everyone's throats for years at a time, he gets a lot better reaction.

Or that the Smarkier Philly fans say "f*** WWE, I don't need to go to their shows, I've got Chikara." So, what you get at the Philly shows are WWE fans from 90-100 miles away that don't go see RoH/Chikara/CZW. |

Likely that's at least some of it, but I'm sure a number of snarky smark people still showed up, given the supposed Arby's chant, and other odd fan reactions. |

1. Jericho's great as a heel.
2. Cena's extremely popular and has just come back from injury.
3. There's a very slim chance that people have actually started growing the snork up and are stopping with the markish whining about how 'Cena is teh wurst wreslar eva', and maybe starting to show a little respect for the guy. Hell, he's done enough to deserve it, who cares if he's an amazing wrestler. Look what happened to the last 'greatest wrestler ever' who was hailed as the messiah by the IWC.

Cena has been away for a while so people aren't fed up with him, plus he isn't as unbeatable as he once was so his matches are actually more exciting.

Cena got the worse reaction last night that he has gotten in almost a year. The crowd was defiently 60-40 against Cena.
The fact that the whole crowd didn't get into a real good ECW chant makes me think there were an awful lot of kids with their parents there.
Although saying that I thought Cena's promo was pretty good last night.

the fact that Jericho being a good heel is winning is amusing. Angle hates black people and Cena still got booed over him. it's because hating Cena isn't as cool anymore as it was in 2006.

He's getting less booing than he was pre-injury, but if he starts to get overexposed again, expect the booing to get worse. |
