Malwarebites has a good program that is free for ridding yourself of the Antivirus 2009/Spyware Gaurd 2008 type rogue antispywares.
BTW, if you think 19 trojans is bad, then you would freak at the sheer volume of crap I had to clear off of my computer Saturday night. I had to clear about 220 files (Spyware Guard 2008 got a hold of my computer), and this did not include the 250 cookies and stuff that Adaware got rid of.

annnnnnnnd there's still crap on my computer!!!! what's up with this adtrgt pop ups? You'll have to run a few different programs to clean it up completely. I had to use Malwarebites, AVG, Norton, Search & Destroy, and something else that escapes my memory to get my computer back on the level. Even then, I think that something is still in there; just not as bad. Update. Run full scan. Repeat at least once daily.

my dad had that fake antivirus thing, it was annoying because while i was searching to try and remove it, it popped up every 5 minutes. i can't remember if Adaware was enough to kill it or if I had to run something else.

No, since it * Disables Ad-aware, Norton, and probably McAfee as well. * Disrupts large installs (to keep you from downloading any new antispyware/antiviral programs). * Reroutes any attempt to open at least 15 different websites for companies that make antiviral programs. * Reroutes Google and Google-type search engines (to prevent you from learning that their software is illegitimate and also to prevent you from learning how to rid yourself of the program). * Reconfigures your restore system configuration in order to reinstall any files that you remove. * Downloads other spyware to foul up your system further (to convince you to buy their "upgrade"). * Has multiple copies of the most virulent files. * Completely deletes some important registry files from Windows. * Imbeds malware files into critical files in Windows.

I went and looked and it was in fact a Malware Removal program. What was it called? I discovered that one that supposedly was certified by PCTools was a rogue that installed stuff as it was removing stuff.

well folks, I went to sleep after running avg and spybot and now my computer can't access the internet at all!
I'm currently using a form of black magic (aka another computer that I have laying around) in order to bring this message up.
oh and now spybot won't work at all. thankfully AVG still works for some reason so I'm scanning it (YET AGAIN!) on it's slowest setting in order to fix my computer.
These viruses won't take me down with out a fight I say!!!
