This isn't the first account we have heard of CM Punk being a dick to fans. Granted this fan seems to be on the obsessive side and can understand that tired wrestlers dont want to be bothered but the thing is plenty of other wrestlers are more than willing to take photos. Punk in this instance was un-necessarily rude.

comment from the site i got it from . This kind of crap pisses me off. What did the guy do to these people to deserve a person an attack like that? I don't blame him for making his account private now. As an aside, that ring looks horrible. To the indie wrestlers on this board I ask this; how safe does it look? Is it as dangerous to work in as it looks? That is definitely a weird ring; I think the mat itself is level, but the ropes are ridiculously loose, and have you seen the size of the apron? It's huge. The whole ring just looks like a bouncy castle without walls and with ropes.

If somebody like Orton had done this, half this board would be crying. Yet because it's the internet's wet dream CM Punk, the fan is getting comments like "he should have let him be, I wouldn't want a camera in my face" blah blah blah blah blah. The fan is completely right in his e-mail. Fans put Punk where he is and all a picture would have taken was 20-25 seconds. What a jerk CM Punk is. Actually that's his character. What a jerk Phil Brooks is. As a real life human being.

And the fact that this is CM Punk has no relevance as far as I'm concerned; I wouldn't even put Punk in my list of favorites. But for God's sakes, the guy just came back from Iraq. He's exhausted from the trip, and the jetlag can't be too pleasant. If the guy wants a photo & autograph so bad, go to a signing. Wrestlers are people too and deserve their space.

In the words of Jerry Lynn, there's nothing worse then a tired, hungry wrestler.
The guy was in a bad mood, and some asshole made it worse.

If the worse Punk ever does in his WWE career is tick off a fan, then I'll be happy. In a business plagued by double-crosses, drug abuses, bad press, buried secrets, and horrible lies, this is about a .15 on the serious scale.

If you're going to meet CM Punk you need to come prepared and educated. 2. If you're a teenage girl, you automatically have a serious shield against CM Punk, he'll be cordial. If you're a fat woman, he'll be cordial. The female race calms him down. YES!

Man I work in customer service. I have bad days but if somebody asks me for something I do it and like it. The fans pay Punk's wages at the end of the day. They don't go to shows, buy his merch etc, he doesn't get a paycheck the size that he does. Signing stuff, taking pics, whatever, comes with the territory. He knew what he was doing when he got into the wrestling business. I didn't get into retail and the first time somebody asked me for help tell them to leave me alone.

But, here's the thing: when you go to your store on your off hours, do you feel obligated to get things for people if they ask you?

Many a time I've been in there just to buy something and helped a customer for the simple fact that I don't wish to be rude or mind helping them.
Fact is, Punk wasn't off duty. He was out in public and the public are the people who watch him. He's off duty once he gets in his house, just like I am. If he's around fans, the arena etc he should be prepared for what comes with it.
If this fan had knocked on Punk's door and asked for a photo or autograph, yes he would be bang out of order. In an airport, I don't think it's such an outlandish request.

Yea I find it funny this e-mail. This guy wants to talk about respect but yet he waiting to meet wrestlers at the AIRPORT? He see Punk not in a good mood and LIMPING. Yet you want to ask him for autographes and pictures. No wonder why he acted the way he did.
It's like is it respectful to go up to Wrestlers who got of the plane or trying to catch a plane and waiting for them at the Airport? You gotta ask yourself. If you saw any famous person at the Airport. Would to go up to them in that matter? Most people wouldn't.
Yes he was off duty. His job is not working at an airport. Being at the arena is different because that where he DOES work. My job is in retail also. Your off duty when your shaft is over and off the clock. So basicly what your saying as long he not in his house or Hotel room. So that makes it ok while he lets say eating a meal at a resturant to walk up to him and ask for that stuff? Or maybe while he's going to the bathroom in a public restroom. That Ok too? The man was trying to catch a plane and stuff. Which if you ever traveled. You know it is a pain in the ass to get through bag checks and crap. It takes time and if your trying to catch a plane.
You know once you sign one person and take a picture with him. More people are going to ask.
The man said he Looked in a bad mood, he was limping. But yet he wants to bother him. Two warning signs before he even went up to him.

But, is he supposed to miss his plane to do so? How many people does he have to sign for? How elaborate and detailed are the signatures supposed to be? Does he need to have a camera? How long should he talk to someone?
Bret Hart has a story about Hogan where overheard a fan saying Hogan was a jerk for not signing his autograph and left to go to his plane. Hart wrote that, what the fan didn't know, was that Hogan was signing autographs for nearly half an hour already and was running late to his plane. So, it happens.
I have a job where, if I came in on a day off, I could be asked for help by a customer. I would help them the best I could. But, if I had to do this for a good 15 minutes, I would refuse after a while.

Are you going to be just as polite when you're working late, having been chewed out by your boss all day, being given a bad attitude by previous customers and have to cut out early of your lunchbreak? (I work in retail too, sorry if I sound jaded). Yes, the "nice" thing of Punk would've been to sign the autograph and be on his way, But like Andrew said above, nothing's worse than a tired, hungry wrestler who - in Punk's case of limping - is in a great deal of pain. Would you be confident enough to say that you have total, compete 100% success rate at Customer Service in all your years of retail? I'm not going to celebrate Punk being... well, Punk. But the guy picked a really bad time to ask for a photo and autograph. If I see a sports figure/wrestler/celebrity in person, I'm not going to bug them. Period. They have enough people bothering them. IMO it's disrespectful. You want an autograph? Go to a 'meet & greet.'

If he had another one to catch or whatever then ok he couldn't sign or take a picture but he at least could have been polite. I have an Austin tape (Hell Yeah from 1999), a lady asks him for an auto WHILST HE'S DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY!!!! And he's still polite about being unable to. Of course you could refuse after 15 minutes, I'd do the same. But I'd (and I'm certain you would to) point them in the direction of someone who could help them. Unfortunately Punk can't go "I'm not on duty but hey, ask Kofi Kingston!" instead.

Unfortunately Punk can't go "I'm not on duty but hey, ask Kofi Kingston!" instead. Fair enough, but the e-mail's ambiguous as to where they were waiting for the wrestlers and how much time passed between the plane's arrival and their encounter with Punk. I always take these stories with a grain of salt, as: 1. They could be fabricated 2. We only get the writer's side of the story 3. We have no idea of the context of what was going: no idea about time passed, physical condition of the person (Punk limping), the actual tone of any language used or gestures that were involved, etc. Maybe Punk's a prick, I dunno, but I can't make that judgment call unless I actually had a bad experience with him. And, even if he's a prick, so what? I know lots of them, it doesn't effect me too much. I've had a brush with two celebrities in my life: one signed lots of autographs and though, seemingly bored and tired, he spent time talking to a young child and his parents, and was nice when he talked to me, after signing about 4o or so other autographs. The other celebrity, in similar context (meeting people as they leave after a play), signed only a handful of autographs and then left. She seemed pretty cold, but I don't hold it against her. I have no idea what was going on with her that moment or how crowded it would have been, etc.

The fans pay Punk's wages at the end of the day. Really? This whole time I thought The Mcmahons owned the WWE. Turns out that I do.

I've heard a lot of these stories about Punk. He just doesn't seem to have very good skills when it comes to interacting with the WWE Universe, unless they're the female planets. It may cost him eventually. I'm convinced that part of the reason HHH, Cena and Jeff Hardy get the pushes they do is because they go out of their way for the fans, and so they represent the company well. I have not heard a bad story about any of them.
If I were in his position, I'd probably find those superfans irritating, but I'd also go out of my way to be nice to them because they will tell people on the internet about me and they will spend a lot of money on my merchandise.

That doesn't mean I get to bother him, while he's walking down the street, on his personal time.
