Neither of those are emo though.
They are, however, excellent.

Nah, they're not. FATA is metalcore, PTW is somewhere along the lines of experimental hardcore.
Pretty much anything that's all screaming and isn't black or death metal ends up getting called screamo nowadays.

Texas is the Reason - Something to Forget
There is that. Not really their video, but y'know. It's a great song.

Ok, I'm old: what's the difference between emo and goth music?

Practically everything, aside from their roots in punk.
Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead (gothic rock)
Rites of Spring - For Want Of (very early emo)
Those are both songs from artists in the beginnings of both genres...and yeah, they really don't sound alike at all.
So yeah, they have pretty much no similarities whatsoever.

Not to hijack the thread but if you like emo music you should check out "The Legion of Doom" they mash-up emo, post hardcore, and alt rock songs www.youtube.com/user/LegionVids. and so this isnt entirely a hijack, here's a Senses Fail video

Senses Fail aren't emo though. I like them, but they're definitely not emo.

I would also call them awesome. Dallas Green has the voice of an angel.
And they're just post-hardcore. I'd kill to see them live someday, they're f***ing incredible. I still think their first CD is their best, though.

I still think their first CD is their best, though. Their first CD is so... well unique, it's impossibly to describe, there's so much going on. All their albums are hell different, but all amazing. I saw them live at Soundwave 08, one of my favourite live acts ever.

You bastard. Hopefully i'll see 'em someday.
And yeah, their first is just completely indescribable. "Polaroids of Polar Bears" is probably my favourite from it. It's just so damn intense and powerful.
And I still haven't gotten TOO into Crisis. It's good, but it's still my least favourite. I need to give it another spin.

Which is odd, because it's the randomness of their first two that made them so unique. My favourite off of the first has to be ".44 Caliber Love Letter". Off of Watch Out! it's "Sharks and Danger", and on Crisis it's "This Could Be Anywhere in the World"

This is why I hate labeling music. Is there a point in creating these arbitrary distinctions between slightly different sounds?
Anyone else like playing Emogame? That is one crazy fun time.

Emogame is indeed a fun time. Haven't played it in a few years though.

I haven't played the game since 2004 myself. From what I'm understanding from this thread, though, not every band in the game is REAL Emo, though. Like, Atom and His Package. Now, I love me some Adam Goren and had previously understood him to be a part of the second or third generation of emo, but I could never reconcile his synth-punk sound with what I understood emo to be.
