I hope he doesn't leave, but if he does, him having his moment to shine is cool by me.

Sadly I think so. They wouldn't set something like this up for a lower-card talent like Dreamer if they didn't mean to go through with it

Hopefully yes so he can beat Swagger for the title at Wrestlemania and hopefully vacate the title when his contract runs out.

Hopefully yes so he can beat Swagger for the title at Wrestlemania and hopefully vacate the title when his contract runs out. No offense, but that would accomplish nothing. I think a better idea would be something like a 15 minute "He's going to, he has to, BAM, he didn't!". Hell, it defined his entire ECW career, he probably wouldn't have it any other way.

he doesn't win it before June 6th and Teddy Long gives him an ECW title match at ONS and he retires with the ECW belt like Trish did with the womens' title.

Dreamer beats Swagger at One Night Stand, vacates the title, then we get a big sexy tourney for the belt, with The Miz hopefully winning it.

Thing is, I think he's retiring for real, I think his body has reached its limits and its time for him to go.
Dreamers career in the real ECW was always about trying to get the title, but not being able to.
What a perfect way to end his career, not meeting his deadline for the title.

See what just happened to Victoria. I think WWE is telling a lot of these veterans... "I think its time to retire. You retire and leave with honor or your getting released."

This should really be how Tommy leaves, something like this. You really want him to do it, but part of you knows he can't.

She had previous made mention of a desire to retire sooner rather than later anyway. Wasn't a big surprise imo. As for Tommy Dreamer, I think this is forreal his 'goodbye storyline'. He's been around a while and put his body through some serious abuse (see orginal ECW). He's had a great career imo because it was on HIS terms....he didn't want the belt - ever...Paul made him take it...that's why he lost it so quick.....hopefully he will agree to take the ECW belt this time and retire on top of the company he helped to build.

I'm not a big fan, but he's earned a decent sendoff.

Here's what I think could happen:
Dreamer comes to the ring on the show before ONS, breaking down and crying because he won't be able to make the deadline. Then Teddy Long, out of sympathy, gives him a special one-day contract extension to allow him to wrestle for the title on Sunday. Tommy wins, he appears on ECW the following Tuesday, gives an emotional speech, surrenders the belt, and says goodbye.

I don't think that belt could even fit around his fat waist.

Tommy Dreamer = ECW
He should get the classiest send off possible. A title match certainly, if not a title win.

I don't think that belt could even fit around his fat waist. He left because they cut the catering budget.
