This should really be how Tommy leaves, something like this. You really want him to do it, but part of you knows he can't. So that means ECW will end with Mark Henry lifting the sink and throwing it out the window after smothering a brain-dead Dreamer? Sorry. Had to.

I joke a lot about Tommy, hell I made the Tommy Dreamer is Fat video on Youtube (which I turned into a megafile and have in my e-mail for anyone who wants it). But Tommy Dreamer is a man's man when it comes to pro wrestling. I've heard so much good about Dreamer, and I really wish Dreamer would have been given a better opportunity in WWE. He is over, and it's a shame he's not used as well as he should be. I think it's best for Tommy to leave WWE, and explore other options. The guy deserves a good send off.

I'm hoping he beats Swagger for the title at WrestleMania. Since his contract ends the night before One Night Stand, I'm assuming that they'd crown a new champion at the pay per view.

Man, now both ECW's die on 6/6. Gonna be a hard day, but Tommy's due. I just wish there was a job at WWE for him behind the scenes, but considering all the people they're cutting loose, I doubt he'll remain.

i met dreamer, waaaay back in 94.house show, in philly, 3:00 afternoon, in the bingo hall, as they were setting up...i had finagled my way in by offering to help move their speakers in w/their crew(being a furniture mover then)...d'von and bubba ray tossing a football to each other around the viking hall, and boom- tommy and dawn marie standing two feet from me.I told tommy "you are what has made a me a fan of wrestling. you are ecw. you are what made me drive 175 miles one way, just to see this show. you, sir, are a hero to me, me being a fat sloppy kid with dreams of this business.
he put his hand out, then, pulled me in for a hug and a hearty back slap or two, and said to me: DON'T EVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAAMS, cause I never did mine.'
tommy dreamer is the man, will always be the man, and as far as ecw:TOMMY DREAMER IS IT' S RIC FLAIR.
GIVE THIS MAN A SENDOFF DAMMIT.

But it can't have been 94, neither Dawn nor the original Dudley lineup (Which didn't include Bubba and D'von) were around at that point

The night he leaves, I wonder if McMahon will be humble enough for atleast Paul Heyman to come down to the ring and hug him

It's not surprising. He was already retired, but came back for ECW. Now that all the Originals are gone, he's got no real purpose. Hopefully he gets to have a kickass Extreme Rules match as his sendoff at One Night Stand.

Wins the title from Swagger on ECW with a tremendous effort, having absorbed a hellacious beating... then, Justin Credible runs in wearing his Olive Garden outfit, rings the bell, and pokes him in the eye with a breadstick, and pins him.

Dreamer can't win the title. He needs to go out with one bloody last stand, not winning the title. Tommy's gimmick is that he's a loser and that's how he should go out. But hell, if he won after 20 years of losing then that would be amazing too. Honestly, as long as he gets a great send-off match I'm happy.

Nah, his last match should have Raven on commentary. I can imagine the commentary: Tommy's nothing but a lardass that ate a truckload of cheeseburgers before every single ECW match. No wonder he was so bloated that even the Sandman couldn't out-fart him.

I remember reading this very thing about a year ago. Don't hold me to it, but I think it was from Tommy himself. I'm pretty sure ended with an "old-school" Tommy Dreamer match - a brutal and memorable losing effort.

Tommy Dreamer should have retired a long time ago. It's better than disgracing his legacy as a generic jobber on a show where he has to pretend that this version of ECW has any connection with the actual ECW.

i dunno how many ECW originals are signed to legends contracts, but they need to get involved in this angle. if dreamer does win the belt, there would be nothing cooler than having the old guard of ECW sharing a ring with the younger ECW guys (maybe some WWECW alumni like punk and kofi too) as they all lift tommy onto their shoulders. that would rule.

Heres how I would book it:
- Tommy Dreamer tries in vain to win a title shot over the course of the next few months, numerous fatal four-ways, tournaments and even the money in the bank.
- Swagger goes on an absolute tear as ECW champion. Demolishes Matt Hardy, crushes DJ Gabriel and even destroys Mark Henry at Wrestlemania.
- Eventually, two weeks before ONS, Swagger gets in Tommy's face on ECW, proclaiming that "everything I said about you was true, you are a loser".
- Later that night theres a chance for an ECW title shot. Tommy Dreamer vs Ricky Ortiz. Up until this point Ricky Ortiz and Tiffany's relationship had turned from two gentle lovebirds to a control freak and a victim. (Who woulda thunk it?) Just as Tommy Dreamer looks like he's about to get the win Ortiz accidentally nails the referee. Swagger takes the opportunity to enter... and hits Ortiz with the Gut-wrench. Dreamer looks at him with shock and disgust, whilst Swagger smiles and walks away. Tommy reluctantly pins Ortiz.
- The week prior to ONS, Tommy faces off against Swagger for the title. Tommy's last chance. However, as Tommy makes his way down the ramp, Swagger jumps him from behind. Nailing him with a chair several times, then crushing his knee with the steps. Swagger walks backstage and the match is ruled a no contest.
- Backstage, Tommy is shown pushing trainers and EMTs away whilst looking for Swagger. He finds Teddy Long instead, and T-Lo tells him that he's going to book a match between Tommy and Swagger at ONS for the title, "contract or no contract".
- ONS comes around, and Tommy enters to a good reaction. Swagger enters in street clothes with the belt and a contract. He claims that "just because you don't care about your body, doesn't mean I don't care about mine" and tells everyone that he hasn't and will not sign the contract, and waste his time with this match. Tommy then grabs a mic and starts talking about Jack being gutless, a coward, etc. However, when Tommy makes reference to Swaggers Americanness (new word), Swagger rushes out and this shit is on!
- What follows is a twenty minute back and forth brawl between the two, featuring chairs, garbage cans, tables, *RVD making run-in to frog-splash John Morrison, Sandman caning The Miz and Tazz locking the Tazzmission on Ricky Ortiz. Tommy eventually DDTs Swagger and wins the belt. Tommy retires. The belt gets vacated and the show gets its name changed.
I'm not a fan of the original ECW (that probably shows), but thats how I see it happening.
