Like way back in time during the Roman Empire or something, your Great great great X a lot Grandfather was sitting around with his family, being a farmer, or a merchant or a soldier or something, all the while living, loving and wondering about his future.
Something about that just totally fascinates me for some reason.

The men in my family were the first ever recorded instances of carpel tunnel syndrome in history. In those days it was called "so you think you're too damn good for bestiality" syndrome.

I don't know that far back in my family history.
I do know that in the 1800s my great great great grandfather was a slave. That may not seem all that exciting but the interesting thing is that he was full white. It amazes me how the U.S. as a society completely ignores the fact that there was white slaves or is just too ignorant to the fact.
granted he was not a slave because of race which was the big thing about slavery but it still really surprises people. He was actually an orphan and the family that adopted him basically treated him as just a slave.
My grandfather still owns the farm in Kansas where my great great great grandfather settled after he escaped from slavery.

Heh not really...
I guess most of my 19th century ancestors were peasants or similar, but there's a small chance of someone being an Earl, or relative to one.
However as we don't own any fancy castle in that county, I don't believe that rumour is true.

My ancestors were slaves. Enough said. There isn't a person alive today who isn't related to a former slave. Every race, and culture on earth has been subjected to slavery without fail.
