Can we talk about stuff like Youtube rippers or sites/apps that can convert web videos into MP3s (i.e. sites that offer that service, etc.) or does that break a Proboards rule? That's a no.

New question whats the hierarchy of the mods? (Who is king mod of FAN?) Technically Madison and Cornfed aren't Mods they are Admins. They get other board related powers. (like messing up the yellow) <_< >_> But Madison is User #1 and is the "owner" of the board. Though in day to day stuff we're all basically equals.

Are there any other videos we shouldn't embed here besides WWE-owned footage not from their Youtube account?
The rule only says for that, but I've seen embedded music videos from official band accounts (through Vevo) being posted as well, so I wonder if this also applies to music videos/soundtracks and movie clips now?

No that's all kosher. Just give a language warning if there's any foul language. Avoid full shows, outright piracy, anything too graphic, you know... common sense stuff.
The WWE thing is due to a legal threat they sent not to us, but way above our heads to the ProBoards legal team about us having a PPV commercial (yes a commercial) for whatever PPV they had upcoming at the time, that commercial wasn't from THEIR source so it became this whole thing for whatever reason.

A couple of times lately, I've typed a profanity expected it to get masked. I've gone back and edited to something else when it didn't. If the profanity isn't censored, does that mean it's OK? I don't type it willy nilly, but only to show emphasis in both instances and I feel like I'm watering down my intent when I change it to something so vanilla The only words we have filtered are listed in the rules. Outside of that, as long as a word isn't used to flame or as a slur, it is not against the rules as far as I can say.

linkAt the bottom of the last page, someone responded to me that I blocked and when I did I checked the option that makes it to where that poster cannot start a conversation with me. Why is he still able to respond to me if I checked that?

Why is he still able to respond to me if I checked that? I believe the conversation thing refers to PMs and not the main board. You can check the option about notifications to stop from being told when they quote you . As for stopping everything, we just don't have that ability.

Is there any chance of asking a thread creator to start their thread with a [PG-13] tag in the beginning if the subject leads to the assumption that there's going to be any "offensive" content in it at all? Not as a way to bring back all the perverted gifs necessarily, just so that those who are offended easily would know to stay out of the thread and everyone in the thread wouldn't be so tense and on alert? I think it could cover all bases and would give no one reason to have issue. Obviously this would be done while keeping the [R rated] "bunk" talk on the unacceptable list, as well as any overtly sexual talk out of the non PG-13 threads.
To be clear, I am not asking for the rules to be changed. I'm just asking for something that would give some slack on both sides to relieve the tension.

The problem with that is everyone's going to have their own opinion of what is PG, PG-13, and R. Most people aren't going to feel that they get offended easily, as they will assume that their feelings and reactions are justified.
If people want, there's nothing wrong with prefacing an OP in a thread with a note like "Sex/race/politics may come up in this thread" but I don't think making it mandatory is the way to go.

Instagram videos automatically embed now even if I just use the url code? That can't be good for WWE-owned footage that's not from their Youtube/Instagram accounts.

Got to be an issue with the new code Proboards installed as it is auto-embedding anything from the sites associated with the new embed option. Thanks for letting us know, don't know what we can do but we'll figure something out.

What's the story with the Calendar feature at the top of the page? Could we possibly have it list upcoming Live PPVs & iPPVs? Maybe wrestler birthdays? TV schedules? If it's more hassle than it's worth I understand, but I'd love to have a list of upcoming iPPVs, maybe with a link to click to see the match listings or go to the company's website.

I admit that I have fallen behind on that but we do sometimes do that, at least for past events. LOL

I'd like to pm whoever the primary admin currently is on here prior to posting, but I see that Madison Carter hasn't been on here in a couple years. Who would be the best current admin to contact at this time?

Who would be the best current admin to contact at this time? He's on all the time, feel free to message him. The last online deal you're looking at reflects when he last appeared as "visible", so don't fret. Other than that feel free to contact myself or Kash Flagg .

How do I block someone from sending me PMs? Had a conversation through PM with someone and I no longer want it to continue. I did block the person on their profile but it seems that they can still send me PMs since they still have our previous messages in their inbox.

Go to the first PM of that chain and select actions, then remove yourself from the conversation.
If said person is blocked that should fix your problem.

Question how does one become a mod? If I became a mod how soon can I abuse my power and rule FAN with an iron fist I mean be a very understanding and, compassionate leader that will be a pillar of the community?

I'll pull up an old post to avoid typing it all out. Honestly what we look for (though sometimes we do the exact opposite just because we wanna): Not overtly showing you want to be staff, though we have picked up a few bossy pants along the way (Psy, Myself...). We prefer under the radar types that don't really get themselves out there too much, but we also ask popular sorts who seem to get on with most everyone (Cthulhu...). You haven't caused too many problems (though the warnings list for staff itself isn't exactly clean to be honest). What we do NOT want (although we still do the opposite of it anyways because we can): Being Off Topic centric with your posts. Everyone already watches this board, we need eyes in WWE, TNA, wRest, Games. People we think invest TOO much in the board. Dude behind the scenes is f***ing insane here. Really I wish I could convey you the daily headaches and explain how cynical this board can turn you as fast as it does. Becoming staff here can completely ruin the experience and joy of the "feel" here. That's why we've lost a few mods screaming into the night. I don't blame them and have considered it many times. So if you rely too much on this place mentally it's really not a good idea to have the extra stress is my point, it would break you. It goes from being a fun hobby to a chore. Being an asshat etc. Well this is obvious. Many other things. Use common sense here. When we take new mods (only every 2-3 years from here on out is our plan) it's a general nomination system, sucking up not needed as I wasn't personal with any of the names I myself nominated, 2 of which are now green. Then we vote after weighing everything we know about the poster. The times they're typically on, the time zones the live in, their history, what their personal lives are like with school or whatever (we don't want to add more responsibilities to someone with a busy work/school/hobby life with their hands in many stews) and many other factors. Then we vote. Top 2-3 get the nod. A good number of people (not saying who *winks*) were up this time, some really surprising nominations but in the end we only need so many at a time. We weren't even hurting for staff this time around, just wanted to freshen things up and get some more eyes around. And for those of you who think you're too under the radar here to be noticed? That's hogwash, we keep a dossier on every one of you. Or maybe we don't. Sounds like a lot of work.
