hilarious episode. I don't get the hate for FG lately. I still love Family Guy, but they have had a couple of episodes lately that I absolutly hated. The episode with the cut-a-way to a full Conway Twitty song is one, and the Bird Is The Word episode is another.

Bird is the Word I found pretty funny if a bit overdone.

I gotta say, I loved the "Bird Is The Word" episode, mostly because my love for that song is on par with Peter's in the episode.

I loved the first segment of that episode, and basically all the Bird is the Word stuff in there. The plot with Peter and Jesus fell completely flat. Same exact thing happened with the pirates episode at the end of last season. LOVED the pirates stuff, but not the Chris/Amanda Bynes plot that followed it.

But isn't the fact that Peter constantly coming up with excuses to play Surfin' Bird and thus giving Stewie and Brian the motivation to destroy the record Office Space style? I mean it was overdone, but it actually fit into the plot and thus not gratuitus.

I laughed at the Punchout joke that's for sure. I really can't stand when they heap abuse on Meg tho, it's something I'll never understand about FG. I remember reading an interview with Seth McFarlane in Blender years back and he was asked why Meg gets all excretory mattered on. His answer is that you're dealing with a (predominantly) male writing staff in their 20's and 30's, and what the hell does a room full of male comedy writers know about teenage girls? I don't know why but the TNG cast standing on the teleporter wearing the prizes (i.e. the oversized sunglasses) that they won at the carnival. That and Stewie not getting to ask any questions at the SciFi convention whereas the other attendees asking questions having NOTHING to do with the show.

Anybody else get really tired of the smug, self-important way that just about every character carries themselves in recent episodes? It's like Seth is basically using them as an avenue to force his opinions on his audience.
Also, I see they've gone the Simpsons' route of having celebrity guests for the sake of having celebrity guests. The whole TNG thing was a waste of time and not funny. And, YET AGAIN, they rehash the "Cool Whip" thing.
But at least it was nice of them to bring William Shatner back to life.

I said it became predictable and annoying to me. Why it was done doesn't change that. I did however, find the Office Space segment hilarious.

Didn't care much for it. Except for the B-plot and the thought of God as Flash Gordon.

The B story was proof why Futurama is a much better show than Family Guy.
And now that I think about it, the A-Story is proof why Futurama is a much better show than Family Guy.

I thought it was funny except for the Meg/Brian part. I'm pretty sensitive to that kind of subject matter.

I used to watch it because it was a funny show, and I enjoyed the random humor. But ever since these past few seasons, Seth has been pushing his personal beliefs, political and religious agendas on people through the show. That ain't cool.

Translation: The writers are lazy. Not that that surprises me.
