Anybody else get really tired of the smug, self-important way that just about every character carries themselves in recent episodes? It's like Seth is basically using them as an avenue to force his opinions on his audience. Also, I see they've gone the Simpsons' route of having celebrity guests for the sake of having celebrity guests. The whole TNG thing was a waste of time and not funny. And, YET AGAIN, they rehash the "Cool Whip" thing. But at least it was nice of them to bring William Shatner back to life. My thoughts exactly.

I used to watch it because it was a funny show, and I enjoyed the random humor. But ever since these past few seasons, Seth has been pushing his personal beliefs, political and religious agendas on people through the show. That ain't cool. DAMN HIM! DAMN HIM! DAMN HIM FOR WANTING TO DO WHAT HE WANTS WITH HIS OWN SHOW!

I thought last night's family guy was one of the worst ones they have done in awhile. That's quite bad considering they crap more than they come up with funny shows these days. That's a shame too. An episode that the Next Generation crew is involved should be platinum, but it was just garbage.
The one the week before would be just as bad if it was not for the Wonder Years bit at the end.
I just hope Seth can pull his head out before i give up on the show completely. I'll chalk this season up as a loss. Since it's not uncommon for shows to just phone it in for a season to do another show, or have a political agenda show after show. We get it Seth..now go back to making us laugh.

If he wanted to do a political show or a anti- religious show, fine. but don't push agendas on people that don't want it. I tune in for comedy, not personal propaganda.

I was also surprised that, despite Peter being the huge Trek fan that he says he is, he wasn't wearing a costume.

I think the A plot really added nothing and was a trite exercise in straw men. Even the positions in that one X-Men episode were far better developed than this. Plus, the ending violated Godwin's law.

If this is how he wants to do the comedy in the show that his choice. Note, I didn't like the main plot either because of how unsubtle the message of the episode is.

This was my absolute favorite Family Guy episode in the last couple of years.
Was it because it was just an outright funny episode or because it was the best assault on religion ever aired on free tv? I dunno.

I love the cutaways, but the full Conway Twitty song was horrible. Yes, that my friends is how you can tell a joke has been ran into the ground. Ladies and gentlemen..............Mr. Conway Twitty! Sorry, I couldn't resist!

As it's Family Guy not Seth's Soapbox Corner.

See that's doesn't bother me, because Conway Twitty himself isn't what bothers me about that. What bothered me was the fact that they played an entire song in the middle of the episode. It could have been ANYONE'S song. It was supposed to be funny, but it wasn't even a joke. Playing a full song just for the hell of it isn't a joke, it's playing music videos.

I turned the channel on the Surfing Bird ep. about ten minutes in. Nothing funny there, just tiresome.

Playing a full song just for the hell of it isn't a joke, it's playing music videos. It's also done because the plot is paper thin. And instead of filling it with funny sequences and jokes involving the characters, they have to put in something unrelated to fill the 22 minutes. The last few chicken fights were done for the same reason, but at least those involve Peter and are pretty impressive in their scope.

Yeah, I know the Peter vs. Chicken fights are filler, but they are funny to me because they are like spoofs of long ass movie fights. I probably would have liked the Conway Twitty joke better if Conway was animated and maybe inside of their house. Like have Louis and the other getting pissed at Peter while Conway was singing.

Had the show just been centered around the STTNG stuff I would have dug it but instead that was just the B plot. The Brian religion stuff doesn't bother me because I have no problem with Seth using his shows to express his point of view. I do wish he would lay off for a while though I go back to pop culture refrences of the 70s and 80s. Plus Brian's dialog with Meg at the end seemed really mean to the point of being cruel. All in all I was disapponted with this one.

Eh touche, personally I don't care either way.
That's what I get for trying to argue for a side when I've got no dog in the fight.

Brian's "New Kids" growl was what made me laugh my ass off... Same with the "TNG" stuff...
