This rule of douchebaggery....
Suppose me and Thread Pirate Roberts take the piss out of each other. That's because backstage we're tight (PMs etc), but in kayfabe, we hate each others guts.
If this is taken as douchebaggery, does that mean no more sarcastic/dry-wit comments? What if a mod misinterprets said incidence of 'douchebaggery'? Are there procedures in place to make an appeal on grounds that a warning or a ban was due to misjudgment of a mod (Errare Est Humanum) and not a true break of the rules?

Are there procedures in place to make an appeal on grounds that a warning or a ban was due to misjudgment of a mod (Errare Est Humanum) and not a true break of the rules? Madison answered this in the past, I am currently looking for the Ask A Mod thread that came before this one. Unfortunately, the Search function does not help. Think I found it : So if we post something that doesn't go well, is there at least a chance to explain what happened before it gets you banned. Case and point I once posted something that I thought was an acceptable criticism meant perfectly innocently of a wrestler, due to three words it was interpreted as relgious bigotry. I explained it as soon as possible, got an understanding warning from the big one and have since stayed as far away from any discussion of that wrestler as possible. My point being, if we get banned, can we at least have a last ditch PM straight to Madison to explain that no we didn't mean it, and then explain what we did mean? Nope. Sorry. That defeats the whole purpose of putting people on their toes to clean up their acts.

In most cases those are verbal warnings given in threads telling someone to knock it off. If we later find out it's two posters just giving each other a hard time then we ask that you make it more clear in the future that you aren't actually flaming each other and no warning is put on the file. I can't speak for myself or anyone else since I've never done this but if it's a warning sent through pm and a person says they were just joking I think most of us would contact the other person to verify that and then apologize to the first poster and once again tell them to make it more clear the next time that it was a joke.

Would a thread asking what people's favorite wrestling theme by a "real" wrestling band (such as Sting's Metallica theme or Steve Austin's Disturbed theme) be alright in Off-Topic?
Now, I can understand why it would be in Rest of, but it's really more asking the opinion of the bands, not the song itself. Like, does that band really fit being in wrestling?
I guess I'm just asking if I can post this s*** in Off-Topic.

I have a Q about sig sizes.
I remember one of the mods (forgive the memory lapse) told me I had to put the kabosh on my "Bruce Campbell's Tomato Soup" sig pic because it's file size made it tough for a lot of dial up users. I checked the rules and the FAQs and I didn't see an exact size. So what exactly would be a good size for a .gif pic?

We've been meaning to get that in the actual rules for a while.

I'm not really sure whether or not we can make a thread on it, but can we make a thread talking about how the economy is pretty much going to crap right in front of our eyes now?

It's ok as long as it doesn't get political or start flame wars or country bashing. Which will probably be hard to do. But you can give it a shot. Talk about the economy itself is fine.

Now, I know this can get "political", as that's obviously going to be a side-effect of the question, BUT...
Would a thread asking what if JFK, RFK, and MLK (That's a lotta K's.) hadn't been assassinated be okay?

Hey Mods, is it alright for a poster to do a review on a wrestling DVD in the apppropiate section?

Also, I just want to put this out there for all of those running Firefox 3 who aren't able to open any Flash videos: you will need to get Flash 10 Beta in order to run the videos again on here. To get there, follow this link: labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.htmlFrom there, go to the operating system that you run and download the appropriate plugin. I hope this helps all out there that are frustrated about not being able to watch YouTube videos without having to go into Internet Explorer. (Also, I apologize if this is the wrong place to put this, but I felt that those who had questions for you guys concerning this would most likely come here and vent about it.)

Yes, so long as the blog doesn't violate the major rules of the board itself (nudity, religion, politics)

When someone drops into a thread to more or less "contribute" something "this sucks and I hate it", without any real explanation for why, or anything else that'd move conversation, does that fall under the "douchebaggery" category, or borderline flamebait?

If they came in and said "anyone who likes this crap is an idiot" it would be. The only time would be if that's pretty much all they did.

Before anyone asks, the answer is "Because." ;D Seriously though -- It's something I've been meaning to do for months, hell, years now. I've never liked the default on that. Plus, I want to test the theory on the green guys getting all the chicks.

W/ the rule of no dickness going on, is it possible to be banned due to sarcasm? I'm wondering, because some people understand sarcasm, and some may see it as coming off kind of dickish.
