Getting rid of the salary cap in the NFL would be a horrid idea. One of the main reasons that the NFL is so popular is because its unpredictability. Right now a team can go from 2-14 to winning a championship the next year. Remove the salary cap and it will end up just like baseball. You mean where there's been 8 different champions since 2000 (ranging from the Yankees & Red Sox to Philly & White Sox to the Marlins) and in the history of baseball only, I believe, 5 teams have ever won back to back? Its not just about who wins the championship. People in Baltimore and Kansas City pretty much know from opening day that their teams wont even sniff the playoffs. In baseball the problem isn't so much that one team is constantly on top its that some teams are constantly at the bottom because they have owners who won't spend enough to compete or can't spend enough to compete.

The rule book should be changed so that players who complain publicly about not getting their carries/touches will incur a penalty of either fumbles or dropped passes to their permanent statistics determined by the severity and frequency of the offense.

1. Add 2 more Teams to the NFL. I know 32 is ideal, but LA could use one badly, and I do not see any that need to be moved. - Add LA to NFC West
- Add Portland or San Antonio to AFC
2. Minor league. I think there should allways be as many sports on durring the whole year. The parts of the year like Summer and Feb/March where the sports that are going on could drag a bit, there needs to be an alternate. - Add 34 Team Minor League
- Split it into East/ West
- Have 3 Divisons
Example. Yes I was Bored. I just looked up the 75 Largest TV markets (for the most part) and took out the current markets. East A #Hartford, Connecticut (Giants) # Providence, Rhode Island (Pats) # Albany, New York (Bills) #Scranton, Pennsylvania (Jets) #Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (Philly) B # Columbus, Ohio (Pitt) # Dayton, Ohio (Clevland) # Flint, Michigan (Minnisota) # Grand Rapids, Michigan (Detroit) # Milwauke, Wisconson(Green Bay) #. Des Moines, Iowa (Indy) C # Norfolk, Virginia (Washington) # Birmingham/Mobil, Alabama (Tampa) # West Palm Beach, Florida (Miami) # Memphis, Tennessee (Titans) # Louisville, Kentucky (Cini) #Greensboro, North Carolina (Panthers) West A # San Antonio/Austin, Texas (Houston) # El Paso, Texas (Jacsonville) # Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Dallas) #Tulsa, Oklahoma (Atlanta) #. Little Rock, Arkansas (New Orleons) # Omaha, Nebraska (Kansas City) B # Sacramento, California (San Fransico) # Fresno, California (Oakland) # Santa Barbara, California (SD) # Monterey, California (St.Louis) # Eugene, Oregon (Portland) # Las Vegas, Nevada (LA) C # Salt Lake City, Utah (Baltimore) #Boise, Idaho (Seattle) #Colorado Springs, Colorado (Denver) #Tucson, Arizona ('Zona) #Albuquerque, New Mexico (Browns) So the Bears don't get a minor league team, huh? The only thing I would do is loosen some of the rules on hitting QB's, pressing WR's, and celebration penalties.

Phoenix is loaded with Chicago transplants, and the Cubs/Sox hold Spring Training in AZ.

That's because Peter Angelos and David Glass cannot run teams. Tampa Bay, Florida, Cleveland, Minnesota and Oakland blew that small market theory out the water in the past years.

Most of this has already been said, but I'll toss in my 2 cents (and then start the baseball or basketball version of this thread):
-Increase the schedule by 1 game, but that's it.
-Put a team in Las Vegas (for super obvious reasons) and take a team from somewhere else (I can't decide where to take one from, so whatever team looks to relocate/has slumping attendance)
-TD celebration rule? Gone, with the provision that your celebration can't hold up the game. You wanna pose off the field holding a sign? Fine. But you have from the time you score till the time your team lines up for the PAT.
-(Partially stolen from Bill Simmons) Super Bowl gets hosted in these places: New Orleans, Tampa, Miami, Arizona, San Diego, LA. Rotate, wash, repeat. All those towns have 2 things in common, large enough for the game itself, and party destinations for the other, more fun parts of the Bowl.
-Pro Bowl stays in Hawaii. Nobody really gives a damn for it, but its a great incentive for the players to get a free Hawaii vacation.
-Waive that stupid Tom Brady rule. While its understood, its also not football. So now if I'm tossed to the ground I have to get up and run at the QB again? BS.
-Restructure the salary cap so that first rounders don't frag their teams until they sign their 2nd contracts.

I think the NFL does a really good job. It easliy has the best commish in any sport. But they do need to do something about the first rounders getting so much money. Really, all in all, a great sport. I've actually had revampting the NHL thing typed out already (I was in a large discussion with my friend) so I'll be real excited for that.

# Dayton, Ohio (Cleveland) I wouldn't put them there (mainly because the football atmosphere just isn't quite there; it seems to be more of a baseball town with the Dayton Dragons (Class A for the Reds)). Putting them in Columbus would be a better place to put them.

# Grand Rapids, Michigan (Detroit) Just move the Lions here. I wouldn't heap that kind of misery on the great city of Grand Rapids.

Ok, how comes my idea of a relegation/promotion, multi-level leagues got totally no sold?
Even an "only Europeans can come up with such idiotic ideas" would have done it...
Honestly, what's the point of having a Minor League where to ship young talents/dead wood, if said Minor League teams aren't gonna go anywhere? And why should a team that have lost tons of games still keep its place in the Top League anyway?

Because the minor league sports system is not set up for it. Minor league players are owned by major league teams and loaned to minor league teams. If a minor league team were to be promoted they would have no actual players of their own defeating the purpose of them being promoted. Not to mention the from the business side it makes absoultely no sense to take a team out of say the Detroit market to put them in Grand Rapids or any of the other examples given. The biggest problem with it is the fact that idea is The Lions even at 0-16 are still going to have better talent than a minor league team. Even as badly as they have been run in the last decade if there were better players out there, either they would have signed them or someone else did.
You cant sell corporate sponsorships (signage, program ads, PA announcements, the offical blank of the team) to companies if you cant guarantee your spot in the league. This may work in Europe but US companies and fans wouldnt understand the idea and wouldnt go for it. It would also have a negative effect on ticket sales, season and single game, as you could tell fans your going to see the patriots and cowboys this year but if we dont win then you get the teams from Albany and Flint. In order for a minor league system to be useful it has to run at the same time as the major league which would again cause horrible ratings and attendance for minor league football. Even with support from the NFL a minor league would be very weak business wise because of the mammoth that is the NFL.
