What would you change to make the NFL better?
Would you add more teams? Relocate some? Remove some?
Add a Minor League?
Or just do nothing.
There is plenty of things that can be changed. What do you the Wrestlecrapper think the NFL would need to be the Ultimate League.
Got this idea from DarkDragon. ;D

Move the Jets to Los Angeles. I'm a big fan of one city/one team systems. Maybe put teams in San Antonio and Las Vegas, I dunno.

How about cleaning up the league? Seems like every two weeks or so some worthless rich idiot is getting in trouble. The NFL is FAAAAR worse than the NBA, MLB, or any other Professional sport. Start kicking people out of the league for good for multiple offenders or people who get Felonies. Teach those morons that even though they have a bunch of money and play football, it doesnt mean they can do whatever the hell they want.

college football rules for ot. What? So Donovan McNabb can take another 10 years to learn them? Anyway. Do away with the excessive celebrating/Chad Johnson rule. I love crazy celebrations. Cut the preseason down to 3 games. Add in a mercy rule, but only for Lions games... and Lions seasons. If the Lions fall behind by 28 points or start 0-10, they're done.

1.Move the Rams back to L.A. 2.8-team playoff 3.Severe Punishment for anybody who breaks the rules(If Roger Goodell knew that the Pats had been taping since 2000. Then why wasn't there a more severe punishment?) 4.A minor league system that runs from March to July(32 leagues with 30-40 players on roster. This would be serious $ just as long as they don't try to expand beyond North America) 5.A mini-playoff where the bottom 4-8 compete for the number 1 pick(I get tired of watching teams throw away games just for picks. And it means more football(the ratings would be low so throw them on ESPN or something)

1. Add 2 more Teams to the NFL. I know 32 is ideal, but LA could use one badly, and I do not see any that need to be moved. - Add LA to NFC West
- Add Portland or San Antonio to AFC
2. Minor league. I think there should allways be as many sports on durring the whole year. The parts of the year like Summer and Feb/March where the sports that are going on could drag a bit, there needs to be an alternate. - Add 34 Team Minor League
- Split it into East/ West
- Have 3 Divisons
Example. Yes I was Bored. I just looked up the 75 Largest TV markets (for the most part) and took out the current markets. East A #Hartford, Connecticut (Giants) # Providence, Rhode Island (Pats) # Albany, New York (Bills) #Scranton, Pennsylvania (Jets) #Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (Philly) B # Columbus, Ohio (Pitt) # Dayton, Ohio (Clevland) # Flint, Michigan (Minnisota) # Grand Rapids, Michigan (Detroit) # Milwauke, Wisconson(Green Bay) #. Des Moines, Iowa (Indy) C # Norfolk, Virginia (Washington) # Birmingham/Mobil, Alabama (Tampa) # West Palm Beach, Florida (Miami) # Memphis, Tennessee (Titans) # Louisville, Kentucky (Cini) #Greensboro, North Carolina (Panthers) West A # San Antonio/Austin, Texas (Houston) # El Paso, Texas (Jacsonville) # Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Dallas) #Tulsa, Oklahoma (Atlanta) #. Little Rock, Arkansas (New Orleons) # Omaha, Nebraska (Kansas City) B # Sacramento, California (San Fransico) # Fresno, California (Oakland) # Santa Barbara, California (SD) # Monterey, California (St.Louis) # Eugene, Oregon (Portland) # Las Vegas, Nevada (LA) C # Salt Lake City, Utah (Baltimore) #Boise, Idaho (Seattle) #Colorado Springs, Colorado (Denver) #Tucson, Arizona ('Zona) #Albuquerque, New Mexico (Browns)

I'll bite
1. Salary Cap. I honestly don't believe in one for this league. There is a huge national TV deal and revenue sharing (unlike in MLB) and many teams get concession money(a lot!), I don't see the need to tell a team you can only spend X amount of money.
2. The draft. The NBA has it right on this one, 5 minutes per pick. It helps move it along and none of that 5 hour first round bull.
3. No football in Los Angeles. They blew it twice.
4. Divisions are OK. Maybe switch Houston and Baltimore. Give you the old AFC Central of Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Houston.
5. NO INTERNATIONAL GAMES!
6. No 17th game.
7. Back to the draft, how about a lottery? Tanking doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the #1 pick.
8. I'd ease up on the QB hitting rules...just a tad.

What about a relegation/promotion system, just like in any other non-US based sport?
A team that finishes bottom of the league, losing most of the games doesn't deserve to keep its spot in the Top League, let alone getting the #1 draft pick...
What is it? A lottery that rewards suckitude?
Let's say the Bottom 4 teams get relagated to whatever Other/Minor League is chosen as "Second-Best Level", and the Top 4 of said league got promoted to the NFL and put in whatever Conference/Division they're geographically closer to.
Said teams get first picks in the Draft order, to "compensate" for them coming from an inferior league.
I think it's not that bad of an idea, but I'm not sure whether there is a Minor League with an adequate level of competition to provide NFL material teams. Maybe some years of build-up/creation of a proper NFL League Two may be needed.
But in the end, I think it'd be more interesting watching teams fighting not to get relegated, instead of having throwaway games between teams who are already out of the playoffs and have nothing to play for.
If not losing on purpose to get a higher spot on the Draft list...

I personally say add a 17th game and an extra bye-week for each team. If there's a hubbub, cut the preseason down to 3 games. Also, you NEED a winning season to advance into the playoffs. If a team or two manage to go 8-8-1... TOUGH. Another team gets a bye.
I like the idea of the Pro-Bowl being the week before the SB, even if it means no SB players. At least try it out this way, and also try to alternate locations into cities that don't have NFL teams when possible (L.A., San Antonio, Austin, Oklahoma, Hawaii (every so often) and even Toronto)... any city with a decent college football stadium works. Play more classic games on the NFL Network instead of just the NFL "news" hour that seemingly runs constantly throughout the day. They have a ticker... use it.

Getting rid of the salary cap in the NFL would be a horrid idea. One of the main reasons that the NFL is so popular is because its unpredictability. Right now a team can go from 2-14 to winning a championship the next year. Remove the salary cap and it will end up just like baseball.

End the stupid blackout rule... I hate the Jets and Giants I so put a game up against them.
OT where both teams get at least one offensive touch.
Nothing else is coming to mind.

Move the Raiders back to LA. Move the Saints to San Antonio since the Superdome is crumbling and outdated and they'll never build a new stadium there. Promotion/relegation will never fly in American sports. I know a lot of MLS fans want it but there's no culture or history of it over here and most people wont get it.

Getting rid of the salary cap in the NFL would be a horrid idea. One of the main reasons that the NFL is so popular is because its unpredictability. Right now a team can go from 2-14 to winning a championship the next year. Remove the salary cap and it will end up just like baseball. You mean where there's been 8 different champions since 2000 (ranging from the Yankees & Red Sox to Philly & White Sox to the Marlins) and in the history of baseball only, I believe, 5 teams have ever won back to back? I'm a fan of the salary cap as well (there's WAY more money in football and it's much easier to buy your way to the top by getting as many free agents as you can) but baseball actually has some of the best parity of all the sports. In fact, look to basketball if you want an example of horrible parity. Their salary cap is pretty much a joke. I would change the overtime rule. I've heard a lot of different proposals. I'm not sure a copy of the college rule would be correct, but something needs to be done. Also, the home games in the playoffs should be determined by record, not whether you win your division. No way a 12-4 team should have to go to an 8-8 team. I think a true minor league would be nice as well. There are so many rookies and second year players who are discarded because they haven't become stars immediately when after a couple seasons of minor league play they could work their way into the NFL.
