You'd think they'd be the perfect couple.
Gosh darn, if they can't make it work, what hope do the rest of us have in this crazy world?

I hear she called him a paedophile.
He responded by saying "that's a big word".
I'll get my coat.

How disgusting. Child marriages = child abuse.

Good old Saudi Arabia.
On an unrelated note
You ever known an insane kid who is constantly doing horrible things like calling the other kids names, beating his little sister with a bat, and lighting small animals on fire? Yet your mother keeps trying to force you to be friends with him. And you want to scream, because all the adults know whats going on, and should be stepping in to stop him. But you know that the adults will let him get away with doing horrible unspeakable things, because his dad owns a gas station, and the adults are all afraid of losing their discount cards.

This may be wrong, but I don't care. All I want is 20 minutes alone with the dude, that's it. Just me, him, a locked room, and a power drill.

Well, here's the thing. This occurs constantly in Saudi Arabia. Basically, if a set of parents want a daughter (or son) to wind up "on the right track", they can sell their kids to someone for the sake of marriage. That is what happened in this case. Not saying I condone it, at ALL, as it IS a version of abuse and slavery (especially with stringent islamic law on the treatment of women).
But, as I darkly joked with some friends last night on X-Box, the kicker in that story was that the father of the girl sold her to a friend because "he didn't want his daughter to wind up with a pedophile"...
...yeah...

Personally, I wouldn't mind having some alone time with either one of them, and I wouldn't need a power drill for it either; some things are just better to do by hand.

Well, my job used to be dealing directly with people who did "things" to kids, and I had to choke back enough emotions over the years to cause about 2,000 nervous breakdowns. Needless to say, I have no respect or even use for either guy as a human being, given the act. As to the power drill, ever read the old stories about how the mob used to "encourage paying debts"?

That's just... gross. My daughter's 6 and there's no way that she's 2 years away from marriage. Disgust.

Ok, I can see the anger and the outrage, but we shouldn't forget the practice of marrying young women, even children at times, isn't something that has never been done in "our" world either.
Sure, we have evolved, and the Islamic laws aren't helping that evolution, but I think we should refrain ourselves from being so judgemental, while our hands aren't exactly clean on that subject.
P.S. we have now found less "direct" ways to screw [physically and psychologically] our children.

I'd still be appalled if it happened five miles from my house.
