Somewhere in the WWE name it has the Michael Cole rule of Double Standards. You know, the one where if a heel cheats to win it's completely despicable and disgusting. But if a face cheats to win then they're just doing what they had to do to win. It's just how things are, and a partial reason why I don't identify with most of the current faces. To be fair, it's not like Cole always gets away with it. Even face Lawler has called him out on that a few times.

But whatever reason, it's just stands out more when he says it.

Faces in WWE have been terrible in the past few years. Many time I legitimately side with the heels on a storyline basis because they are right.
Then, of course, WWE has to make them into superheels because they just all of a sudden realized that their crappy writing in the first place made no sense.
Take Jericho's last heel turn. He's the bad guy because he was upset that Michaels faked an injury?
(unless I'm missing some details there, which is possible).

You could probably add Batista's demolishing beat downs on heels to list of things faces shouldnt do. What's wrong with being brutal? Are you talking about out of wring beat downs or sanctioned matches? Personaly I hate it when faces 'go easy' on their aponant because they want to 'take the higher road'. It comes off as self-rightious arogence. Fight to win! I mean, just look at how lame it was when Batista kept closeing the cage door on Jericho to make a statement about who's the bigger man, when Batista could have gone out the door himself and won. This of course, cost him the match. In the end even heros can be layed low by their own hubrus. This. I always figured faces should pay the heels back in their own coin. That's what I liked about the original ECW is faces used weapons just as much as the heels did. That's also what made Stone Cold Steve Austin great. He fought the heels on their terms and won. And of some dame felt like sticking her two cents in forget about the whole wouldn't hit a girl thing. Nope equal rights means equal consequences beeyotch!

I mean, sure, Michaels superkicked him for no reason before. But Jericho went too far, by smashing Shawn Michaels face into the Jeritron and just beating the living bejeesus out of him. Not to mention, he called all the fans hypocrites and liars for supporting Shawn Michaels. So yeah, that's why Jericho is the heel.

Eh, you could argue what Cena did wasn't so bad, because he did seem to give her the chance to confess with all that 'I'm in love with Vickie' stuff. I think the point of that was to get her to admit the real reason.
Also, he might have done Edge a favour since Vickie was probably going to screw him over at some point in the future.

But HBK did lie about his injury tho and i know Jericho is meant to be the heel but he is talking the truth.
