First off, Triple H vs. Orton. I can see the reasonable enough means of getting Trips involved in a feud with Orton again, but the approach they're using isn't the best. At all. Okay, yes, Orton hit an RKO on Hunter's wife, he punt'd Vince's head into six months from now, and even had the Legacy stable triple team him.
These are physical attacks. Triple H, on the other hand, has been going to an extreme by throwing his sledgehammer at a driving limosine, hammered his way into the Orton household (Or whoevers it was), and was taken rightfully off the premises for his actions.
And as the show ended, you could hear the fans cheering Triple H on.
And earlier in the night, we saw John Cena sign the contract that would turn Edge vs. Big Show into Edge vs. Big Show vs. John Cena for the World title at Wrestlemania 25. Cena, obviously mad about losing his title shot by DQ, blackmails Vickie Guerrero, Edge's wife, into giving him this shot. So she does. And what does John Cena do? He shows the WORLD that Big Show and Vickie are having an affair.
What. A. Dick.
Ladies and gentlemen, I couldn't make this up if I tried. The top babyfaces of World Wrestling Entertainment, John Cena and Triple H, are the biggest heels in pro wrestling right now.
And you wouldn't be able to recognize it if you could, because both men are getting cheered for their actions, while the guys I feel the most sorry for, Randy Orton and Edge, are booed because, well, they're innocent.
Okay, so Edge isn't FULLY innocent here, but when you just hear a guy's wife is cheating on you, you're telling me you wouldn't feel the least bit sorry for the other guy? I mean, I do.
As for Orton, sure, this sort of thing would happen in the movies, but in Triple H's case, what he just did this past week would make him, say...Jack Nicholson in The Shining. Pretty much.
So without realizing it, Cena and Triple H, the guys that are cheered for by fans, are doing some pretty dastardly deeds that you'd expect Edge or Orton themselves to do. But they aren't. It's the good guys that are blackmailing, the good guys that are breaking into houses...just to sell a PPV buyrate.
I've been trying to figure out why these two men have been played as such heroic bad guys, and I just can't. Even from a mark's standpoint, I don't know how to look at it. I could prolly ask someone who doesn't look at the inside view of the business why they like the fact Triple H broke into Orton's house, and they say, "Cuz it's Triple H". But would they cheer for Orton if he did the same thing? Of course not. So why cheer ANYONE for doing it?!
I dunno.
Even worse is that the triple threat match is, of course, just another match made as an excuse to get John Cena into Wrestlemania, with Big Show's added in to avoid either him or Edge from getting pinned and looking bad.
I just don't get it. What was so wrong about Orton vs. Cena and Edge vs. Triple H? What was so wrong about that from the beginning?!
Remember, Edge lost the WWE title early at No Way Out, so he broke into Raw's Elimination Chamber and won the World title. Keep in mind that he KO'd Kofi to get into the cage, and pinned Rey last to finally win the gold.
Sure, you can argue that Cena did lose the title and he should have been given a shot anyway. But his shot was used up last week. Move the f*** on. You're still the top draw without the title, why bitch?!
I mean, why isn't Kofi getting the shot, since he didn't even make it inside the cage? Why isn't Rey Mysterio getting this chance since he was eliminated last by a guy that shouldn't have been in the match in the first place?!
I admit, I'm pissed that Edge won a title, once again by shock, but that doesn't mean I'm more pissed at Triple H for wanting to be the big star on the Grandest stage once more, and because Cena's the company's golden boy, he's allowed to be in every main event no matter what, and he knows it. I mean, look closely at John Cena next time he's on TV. Tell me that when he smiles, it isn't the smuggest smile you've ever seen in your life.
And what pisses me off even more was that the last few months were pointless. Sure, Edge won the WWE belt twice, and we got a one month Jeff Hardy reign...but unfortunately Jeff wasn't there for most of his time, being in hit and runs and pyro failures, and even Edge's one month long reigns were pretty lackluster. So what was the point of Triple H losing the belt only to regain it after a few months of not too memorable reigns? Why have Cena lose the title if we all know he's gonna win it back at Wrestlemania?
I don't know. And to be quite honest, I'm going to end up watching the WWE shows no matter what, because even the Money in the Bank and the Undertaker/Shawn Michaels feuds are more interesting, even if the main event feuds are being booked in Bizzaro World.
Anything else to add? Not really. Just pray that they rectify this soon, or else both guys really WILL be the bad guys.
