I am of the opinion that Mr. Layfield gets FAR too much hate around here. I mean, you're all entitled to your opinions...but I seriously feel that he's one of the better big men in the business today.
He's got excellent psychology in the ring. He knows his style in and out. He's a spectacular heel. He knows just how to get the heat he needs at any given time, cheap or not. Heat is heat, my friends.
Not to mention, the Clothesline From Hell is an AMAZING finisher. It's simple...but that's what I like about it. It's nice to see a lariat is still a totally believable finisher in this day and age.
But seriously, I love the man.
APPRECIATE!

Gotta love JBL
Not in the best shape but that's not his gimmick. I wouldn't mind another world title run but he's just fine in the upper middle card.
Definitely great on the mic and can get it done in the ring

To me he is the closest WWE will get to having Stan Hansen. He works his butt off in matches, and is a great story teller, and a master of the subtle things that make matches just that little bit better.
*continues to appreciate*

I love JBL and love spouting off the following...
A self made millionaire, a Wall Street Analyst, he had his own show on CNBC, he beat the market 7 out of 7 years, a Best Selling Author, the longest reigning WWE Champion in 10 years, he beat Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit for championships. He won the belt in a Texas Bullrope Match and retained in a Steel Cage Match, Triple Threat Match, Fatal 4-way match, the first ever Last Ride Match, a Hardcore Match, the first ever Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match and Main Evented every SmackDown pay per view for 14 months.

I'll appreciate, he'll probably never crack my top ten, but the guy is decent for what he does in the ring, good on the mic, hateable as all hell, etc.
Besides, if nothing else him fighting Godzilla while telling 'zilla that Big Show 'eats pizza' woulda sold me if I wasn't already liking the guy.

The ways he would invariably hate on the Miz while on commentary were hilarious. I don't know if it was legit heat or whether they just told him to come up with a running gag.

Next to Orton and Edge, JBL is the best heel in not only the WWE but in wrestling. Plus he can get a young babyface over like crazy, See Cena in 04 and Punk in 08

A Wrestling Gawd!
To me, he has cut the best promos in the business since the Rock/Austin ones.
I will never forget his in ring rant prior to his first WWE Championship match against Eddie Guerrero at Judgment Day '05. That fued that went until GAB '05 was one of my favorites!
*Appreciates JBL

I respect JBL, I hate his character, which I'm supposed too. I really just miss the beer drinking Texan named Bradshaw.
Stryker's right about the comparison to Stan Hansen too.

I definitely appreciate his heel character, but I honestly don't think that he's been given the chance to express that recently. Ever since he started wrestling again on RAW, his character has shifted to being more serious and boring, and he hasn't been as exciting on the mic. I miss the 2004-2005 JBL who was loud, obnoxious, jingoistic, and spouted out offensive opinions. He hasn't really been that same level of awesome heelishness since over the past year or so.

jbl must be the last heel than i really hate
Only for that, i consider than he deserves to be in the position that now has
Anyway, sometimes i feel than he has Real Heat and others is a kind of xpac heat

Actually, I just remembered when he came out and had fireworks go off for way way WAY too long whilst looking stoic. That guy's alright after all.

Needs to be goofy again. Smiling, hand shaking, hand sanitising, pseudo-politician JBL was the best.

Unquestionably, the best heel in the 'Entertainment' era. And that includes Evolution HHH, current Orton, Edge, and even Chris Jericho.
While not great in the ring, awesome on the mic and can get heat like an over door.
A great heel, and a true American HEEEE-RO.

Well, I will admit this: I love Jibbles.
But, given how he has been treated since he got his in-ring return, I kinda wish he stuck to commentating. At least do what they did with Batista, give him an overnight world title reign to keep real the possibility of his being a threat, instead of him becoming a plan-C type joke. If you gave me the choice between him staying on commentary or coming back as he had; I would have gone with him on commentary. Only reason I liked the idea was because he might have gotten one more albeit brief world title reign to cap off his career
